IIIT Kottayam: Perfect Academics & Facilities

Overall Rating
The fact that IIIT Kottayam is in Kerala was what that excited me the most and I think that this campus is worth joining among the institute s that I’ll get with my JEE score. Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kottayam is a bit smaller than what I expected but it will expand for sure and trying to accommodate more students as first years you are given hostels outside the campus and are sent to institute via a traveler.
 

Academics Rating
The course that I chose was B.Tech Computer Science and the motive to do so was my keen interest in programming after getting to know about it. I’ve qualified JEE Mains with a rank of around 50K and OBC Rank of 15,505. Admission process at the institute is quite simple they'll update you documents that you've to get for the process and all you got to do is get those documents and you're all set. JEE Mains are conducted twice in a year in January and April. I've prepared for Mains for 2 years.
Fee of the course at IIIT Kottayam that I chose is around Rs. 2,00,000. Tuition fee is of Rs. 1,30,000 and Gym fee is of Rs. 1,000. Students can apply for scholarships through NSP portal.
 

Faculty Rating
Most faculties are from various reputed institutions like NIT, IIT and other IIIT's too. Their conceptual understanding is far greater and honest. They've got 3 Screens in every class and they get us ppts which help in better understanding of the subject. There are around enough teachers and Ph.D scholars to help us anytime we need them. I've personally had a great experience at IIIT Kottayam.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are offered to the students at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kottayam. Average package is around 15 Lakh and the highest package is 49 Lakh. The placement cell is always trying hard to get companies to institute. Companies like IBM and NVIDIA have also visited the campus of IIIT Kottayam.
 

Hostel Rating
The institute offer residencies to Faculty and hostels to students. The first year students are accommodated with the hostels outside the campus. Girl and boys hostels are separated. Mess food quality is fine. Hostel fee is around Rs. 30,000 per semester.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Institute has 2 academic blocks. The new one and the old one. Various labs are found with a Library and as I stated, Campus is a bit small for what they mentioned in the website but enough for numerous students. We got different sports ground, 2 badminton courts, and an OAT (Open Air Theatre). Campus is situated next to a village called Vallavoor hence the locality is quite peaceful. We’ve got 3 Canteens Milma, Migloo and Millet.
 

Campus Rating
For the first year over all campus life was great and constant improvements were being done to the campus so hopefully in coming days it'll get far better. We’ve got various fests to interact with fellow students and seniors. Some of these fests are APOORV for even sems and ADAVYA for off sems. IIIT Kottayam is filled with students and clubs to keep them engaged. I've had a wonderful institute life so far and I am expecting it to get better.

    This is a very good institute. We have many great opportunities to get a job. Don't believe negative reviews that you listen as we have great equipment in laboratories and great well enough graduated faculty. For 1st years, hostel may be outside the campus. Management will take care of that they will provide buses. If you can afford fee then joining IIITK is worth joining rather than private institutes.
