Review of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

Overall Rating
I particularly accepted this college in my first round of JOSAA counselling. The reasons for choosing an IIT are mainly its infrastructure and placement opportunities. Here there are also internship opportunities which many students can grab in their 3rd and 4th year which helps in placements. Overall the campus is wonderful and worth it.
 

Academics Rating
Academics is a little tough for those who thought after JEE there is only fun. But the reality is that even when after clearing one of the toughest exams you have to study here for maintaining good grades. Actually the first semester is the decider. That is if you fail to achieve a decent grades in 1st semester then it becomes hard to achieve a good CGPA, you may get good SGPA but increasing CGPA is tough though many students here come back by increasing their academic grades.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is friendly and helps with any issues you face. Even there is a facility of counselling for the students who are week in academics. The academic section informs the wellness centres that then see to the students who are week in academics and help them grow. The institute sees that there students study well.
 

Placement Rating
I am still in my 2nd year and the internships are already open for us on campus. Also placement facilities are good. Many top tier companies visit out campus such as Unilever, Uber, Amazon, JP Morgon, Microsoft, etc. We have our alumni in almost every top company.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are good. Just the boys have okayish hostels as obviously they are boy’s whatever they provide either they just destroy or just don’t use it properly. Also the main reason is the number of boys (1000) in a hostel and the girls are just 350-400 so it’s easy to maintain a girl’s hostel than boy’s hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus is really beautiful with greenery all around. Also our lecture halls meet with every facility a student or a faculty needs. Wi-Fi is provided all over the campus. We have online attendance system. Library is open for 24 he during exam days and up to 12 in mid night in regular days . Library is full of enthusiastic students.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life I would say is best when it comes to IIT as you are exposed to all the extra curriculum activities sports, games, events, and activities like trips. Also you have a whole India in just 1 place. You meet many people and explore every culture and celebrate every festival with great enthusiasm.

    The campus of IIT Roorkee is one of the best campuses in the country with lush green beauty and the iconic James Thomason building of IIT Roorkee is its pride.     The institute is amazing with an area of about 350 acres and a large number of facilities and sports. It has a good environment and offers good placement. It is one of the top Institutes in India and is highly recognised.     The overall environment of the college is amazing. My overall college experience is amazing the peer group here and competition encourages me to work harder along with having fun.
