Pursuing My Bachelors from IIT Roorkee

Overall Rating
IIT Roorkee is one of the oldest Institution in India. Many students take admission this Institute. It’s been a year since I got enrolled in this Institute and so far my experience has been great. I made lot of friends and have done so much study to score good marks. I had many options but I chose this Institute because it is good for my course. The coding culture in this Institute makes it different from other Institutes. This Institute is also close to my house and this is another reason why I chose this Institute.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Chemical Engineering because I am interest in Physics and Mathematics. I got to know from my seniors that we get enough time for other activities apart from the academics. For admission, the students need to qualify JEE Main and JEE Advanced. After that the students need to appear for the JOSSA counseling. The exams are conducted twice per semester such as mid-term exams and end-term exams. The academic enhances various skills of the students such as time management, problem solving skills, team work, etc.
The tuition Fee per semester is Rs.1,00,000/- for the students who belong to general category. For the students of SC/ST, they don’t need to pay the tuition fee. There are multiple scholarship available for the students.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members of IIT Roorkee are very helpful and open minded. Most of the teachers have done Ph.D from this Institute. The teaching methods include blackboards, PPTs, etc. The faculty is very experienced in their respective field and they have published various research papers. The teacher to student ratio is around 1:20. Most of the faculty is approachable and students can ask their doubts during the class.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the Institute has placement cell. The placement is excellent in Circuital branches, etc. The average package is around 17 LPA to 18 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the Institute provides hostel faculties to the students. There are separate hostel for girls and boys. In first year, the students will get double and triple sharing rooms. In second year, the students will get single room. The hostel has gym, Badminton courts, grounds, and common room for recreational activities. The mess food is average. There are no time restrictions. The hostel and the mess fee is around Rs. 90,000/- per year.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus of IIT Roorkee is spread over 350 acres. Most of the buildings are equipped with elevators. The campus as lecture halls, libraries, canteens, etc. All of these are well equipped with AC facilities. The campus also has Café Coffee Day (CCD). The Institute has sports facilities and swimming pool as well. The main auditorium has a capacity of 4,480 people. Overall, the infrastructure of this Institute is great.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life so far has been great. The crowd is also good, goal oriented, and focused. There are multiple clubs such as Cultural club, Technical club, etc. Two fests are conducted every year by the Institute called Thomso and Cognizance. Various people attend fests and enjoy them. Various artistes are also invited to perform in the fests and motivate the campus crowd.

    IIT Roorkee is India's premier institute for education. My experience is very good. You met people from different background and learn a lot about other's cultures. You appreciate their skills and learn from them. It has slightly easy academic than other IITs that helps you to find time to follow your passion. This thing is different from other IITs.     I feel Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee is good and I don't have any disappointing issues with it. I feel like most of the facilities are available in the institute. We have gym, ground, temple, canteens and many more so that we spend our time in learning anything in the institute and also we have a library where it is very peaceful to study.
