IIT Roorkee Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

There are 2 main lecture halls there inside the campus, that are APJ Abdul Kalam LHC and Gargi LHC, where most of the lectures and tutorials of all the students take place. Then every branch has their own departments and practical labs. We also have a 4-story library called Mahatma Gandhi Central Library and it is opened throughout the day from 8:45 AM to 12:00 AM on regular days. Beside library, we also have a study room that is opened 24 hours a day daily. We also have a Convocation Hall and there are multiple seminar and conference halls. We also have e-rickshaws available in whole campus, to help us go to any part of campus. We also have an institute hospital inside the campus. The University has CCTV cameras and security guards. branched & ATMs of 'Punjab National Bank' and 'State Bank of India'.

Overall campus life is amazing. We study but also have a lot of fun throughout the semesters. Institute crowd is also good. most of the students are well mannered and make you feel safe within the campus. There are numerous cultural as well as tech clubs that you can explore. There are a lot of fests and events that take place throughout the year. ‘Thomso’ is a cultural fest that take place in October month, it's a 3 day long fest, in which there are different cultural competitions take place as well as there is one concert every day, that is the best part of the fest.Read Full Review

Infrastructure is good here. The buildings are well built & hostels too. The main highlight of infrastructure here is ‘Thomson Building’, and the ‘ECE Tower’, which used to be a watchtower in old times. Everything here used to be something major in the past, The Convocation Hall used to be a Hanger for fighter jets. The buildings are well built for such uneven platform; the roads are sometimes steep and sometimes straight. The campus of IIT Roorkee is one hell of an infrastructural marvel. The campus has 3 volleyball courts. Apart from the ones in the hostels, 4 tennis courts, 3 basketball courts, and a badminton hall are also there.

The overall campus life is good. The Institute crowd is good. The seniors are great and share their experience it is like a culture here to stay with your juniors and guide them in everything. The campus is spread over 358.5 acres of land. There are around 23 academic departments. The classrooms have good seating capacity. The campus has library, labs, seminar halls, etc. The campus has multiple sports ground and hospital is also available. I have played a lot of sports in the ground with my friends. The labs are well maintained and help the students in their practical work.

My campus life till now is good. I am very proud that I am a part of IIT Roorkee. The campus crowd is good and competitive as well. There are several clubs. I am a part of NSS and do a lot of social work. Various festivals are celebrated in this Institute. The Institute conducts a tech fest named ‘Cognizance’ and cultural fest named ‘Thomso’.
