So first you can't compare this university to any other government colleges such as NIT or IIT. But if you are not getting government college then you can choose this university. My suggestion is to you if you are getting admission in this university then try to at least get 30% scholarship through CUCET which is not so hard only basic of 11 and 12 class then this university worth you.

I am in first year of BE-CSE and I got admission through CUCET exam which is online based exam which you can give from home through laptop. You can apply for CUCET from their official site and you have only required passing in 12th class exam to give this exam. I choose Chandigarh University because I got 30% scholarship through CUCET exam at this fees I am getting any other college.

In this university 60% teachers are from the Punjab and rest from the other states. All the teachers are well experienced with master degree Ph.D. All the teachers who are at teaching level are well cooperative but at the management level my experience is not good because they look like lazy in work and rude.

The average placement of Chandigarh University is 4 LPA but its official site shows more. There is also a placement program which trains you for the placement but this is starts from the third year. Yes, there is lot of companies comes every year for the placement but there is lot of competition because at first year there about 5500-6500 in B.Tech only so you have to work on yourself and skills there is not much in practical knowledge.

Yes, there are hostel facilities available for both girls and boys. Boys and girls hostel are separated they are not quad. There is two type of hostel are 5 seater (AC and Non AC) and 4 seater (non AC). Boys’ hostel distance from the campus is 500 m approx. Hostel food is average not so good not so bad. If you want PG or Flat than you can get near the university or a small town kharar where you can get lots of flats for rent. If you going for hostel my suggestion for 5 seater because 4 seater are more small. There is no ragging in hostel as well as campus.

Infrastructure of the university is as beautiful. In every block there is library available which is perk for student for self study. In central library there are many books available. PC is available in labs which up to date updated. Campus size is approx. 250 acre. Every class has approx. 70 student in each.

Campus life is best part of this university here you will get the students from all over the India as well as international so you will get a lot of exposure. People here are so friendly. There is place called Fountain where you can sit in free time with your friends. There are two grounds available. There is so many clubs available approx. for every activity, dance, singing, theatre, games coding, etc. There is every month event or fest is happening in fest they call singers, DJ, actors, etc.
