The NorthCap University B.Tech Review By Ajaypal Bhadavariya

The NorthCap University is one of the top private Universities in NCR. The NIRF rankings have proven it time and again that NCU is the best in the area. Here the teaching faculty is a mix of researchers, educators, and stalwarts from business sectors. This helps in the personal growth of each student as a whole. This is something that the University considers as its biggest assets. Previously it was known as ITM University and many people still know it with the same name. The academic excellence remains the same and so is the reputation of the University. There are not guards but bouncers inside the campus and manhandling means you are gone. However, one should be optimistic and realistic as well. Today I work in Mumbai and nobody gives a damn about NCU. The University is reputed but for me reputation of a University depends on how well people outside its boundary know that University. NCU is an unknown commodity outside Delhi NCR. The University has done everything that it can but still hasn’t been able to spread its wings outside. I hope my review reaches far and wide because NCU is awesome and life at the campus was extremely beautiful.

The college is fully Wi-Fi and has air-conditioned classrooms with enough charging points for laptops. Even when I tell my friends about it in Mumbai they don’t believe me and I hope this corona ends soon so that I can take them to the University. The University syllabus is cutthroat and as per the requirements of the modern-day industries. As CSE students, we also had many specialized subjects to choose from Data Science, Web Development, and Cyber Security, etc. The labs for each department were different and the most innovative of them all was of CSE.

I have the highest regard for them. They are not at the University for the Academic Part but any aspect of your life and they have answers for them. It’s easy to label a private University and its faculty money-minded but at NCU it wasn’t the same. The faculty was a mix of youth and experience. They were masters of their domains and life lessons and proper guidance was an add-on. They also helped us with GDS interviews and aptitude tests for the placements. Their contribution to the students of NCU is immense.

The final destination of all the hard work and perseverance that you have maintained for 4 long years is for the placements. As a part of the University, we have already done our internships and had enough industrial exposure. In addition to that, our syllabus was also tailor-made as per the requirements of specific industries. 20-25 companies came to attend us and some of them have an aptitude test as their criteria. Almost all of us cleared that, the ones who appeared for those specific industries. The placement for B. Tech students was around 5 lakhs. The NorthCap University placement ratio was great as one should also check that the strength of NCU is higher than many colleges of DU or other universities combined. Still, 7 out of 10 got campus placements.

Delhi NCR is huge and therefore hostel was open for all. The campus of NCU had 2 beautiful boys and girls hostels. The rooms are limited compared to the college strength but most students were from Delhi NCR and felt happy to travel as the University provided transportation facilities. The hostel was high-tech with ac rooms and a students' corner. The hostel had sports rooms and many points where students can gather and unwind themselves. The security was also super tight and violation of curfew time was beyond imagination as if you fail to report on time, the hostel management will immediately call your parents.

There is underground parking in the campus and that can have 200 cars and 500 2-wheelers in it. There are various buildings inside the campus and all high-tech. The area of the campus is 10 acres and has a lot of greenery. The location is superb as commuting from the campus is easily available. Be it the metro or the buses you will find them all easily. The college has built an LDC which is a learning development center and was used by faculty and students and some guest lectures also took place at LDC. There is a social room for the student where students can socialize by sitting on the couches or playing indoor games. The cafeteria of the University was affordable as one gets anything from the open counter and you can see a live display of when your order is prepared. Everything is high-tech and the cafeteria will also give you the feel of Mcdonald's. The students are divided into various houses and a healthy sports competition is held between them twice a year.

There was nothing in The NorthCap campus that bother me. Security-wise, it was taken care of nicely. The faculty was nice and one can approach them anywhere on the campus. Fest wise the college lacked because there were not many events throughout the year. There were quite a few clubs but the cultural clubs got more opportunities to perform outside the campus rather than on the campus. I have mostly good things to say because the University is really good.
