The NorthCap University BCA Review By Vivek Som

Hello, myself Vivek Som, and currently I am pursuing my Bachelor of Computer Application in Web Development Specification. I am in 2nd year right now with a CGPA of 8.7. As of now my experience in this college is satisfactory and according to my personal experience, education wise, this college is having good faculty members leaving few subjects. Faculty of the core subjects is good and also some of the faculty members are working in recognised companies like Gemini Solutions, etc. My campus experience is also satisfactory, like, the classrooms have good ACs quality. Also the cleanliness in college is maintained by cleaning staff. Thing I didn't like in this college is the services provided by the cafeteria, they don't provide us good services. They have a card system for canteen which I don't like.

My experience with academics is satisfactory. This college provides good academic support to students, if they are willing to study. The entry requirements for any course are that you should have 70 above percentage in 12th. Also they provide us a chance to change the semester with foreign Universities like Arizona State University, Cornell University, etc.

My experience with faculty of the college was very good. As I have attained 9 CGPA in first semester and 8.5 CGPA in second semester. Without the support of the faculty I think this would be very difficult for a student to get these CGPA. The faculty members of the core subjects are good. They have good experience in their domain subjects. Leaving one - two teachers, till now most of the teachers are good and they explain very well.

Placement cell is not good. You must work on your skill to have placement otherwise you will find it very difficult to have a placement.

Our college doesn’t have a hostel for boys. Yes, a girl’s hostel is there which I have heard about and that is outside the college. I don’t have much knowledge about the hostels.

The infrastructure of the university is good, but the campus is not that much big. There’s a cricket ground where students cannot play on the leather pitch, which I don’t like about this college. Also one of a college guard told me that the cricket ground in this college is on lease and they provide it on rent for the corporate matches. Only once in a year you can have matches on that field.

My campus experience is good. The cleanliness in our college is good. The washrooms are clean and well maintained. All classrooms have good benches and working ACs. There is a well maintained library in the campus. There's a Nescafe outlet inside the campus, tinkering lab, thought lab, sports room, mechanical lab, music room, etc. are also there. The auditorium is the best thing in the University. Its sound quality, speakers, curtains and lightings are just like IITs. Whole campus is covered under the surveillance of camera, even a single spot is not there where you are not under CCTV surveillance. Smoking is strictly prohibited in University and if you are caught using that, you will be suspended immediately.
