NCU B.Tech was a good program but the only thing they failed at was the placements. Many top companies have blacklisted the university as many students have lodged complaints against the university. Since I have studied there I can throw some light on that. The NCU admission process is quite simple as no entrance score or anything is required. You come to the university and tell the receptionist you want admission. She will bring in a professor who will take you to the principal. The principal will take a small interview of yours and then will tell the university staff to help you do the formalities. So taking admissions here is the simplest part but then life becomes tough. I was not assisted for any internship program. For placements too it was difficult because very few companies visited and the jobs that they offered were petty one.

Academics of NCU are brilliant as well as CSE subjects; we also had additional subjects like forensics, gaming, machine learning, artificial intelligence, AR & VR, cyber security, and full stack development, etc. All these things are what every industry demands, so the cutthroat syllabus and additional topics that are taught at NCU is something which is sparse. Most of the studies were done through PPT slides and therefore a CSE student that passes out from NCU will be adept in running a computer thoroughly and not just the programming. For practicals the college has associated with Google cloud, IBM, Nptel, CNA (Cisco Networking Academy), and Oracle Academy.

I don’t say what most people have to say because I found NCU’s CSE faculty stellar. Even the top tier engineering colleges of the country might not find the faculty with credentials that NCU’s faculty possess. They didn’t just teach us the syllabus but also helped us in career planning. They made us focus on all-round learning and would urge students to get involved in extracurricular activities of the university. There’s nothing that doesn't catch their eyes so beware and try your best to be the apple of their eyes.

This has to be the worst part of the university. Gurgaon, Noida today has become IT hubs and is rightly called the mini Japan of India. NCU still couldn’t maintain the companies that have stood with the university for long. TCS have stopped coming here even after knowing that students of NCU have credentials that most university students don't. Many start-ups have started off-late and mostly they were the ones who came to hire students who can solve their tech issues. Since start-ups were the main players, the salary that they offered was less than what an accountant earns in NCR today. The university will have to address this issue or else no one will join NCU.

The hostel facilities are great as both boys and girls hostel are at the campus. From what I have seen, they were always full because the strength of people coming from other cities and states is quite high at NCU. Mostly the students were from Punjab and Haryana only as the university is still trying to find its ground in other parts of India. Hostel had a mess and food as I know was mind blowing because my friends from the hostel would never stop boasting about it. Maybe they did that on purpose but since I haven’t tried the food, I can only tell it from their experiences. So, the hostel was amazing, the students used to have fun and their food demand was taken care of by the hostel mess.

The campus was precisely small as campuses of colleges in Gurugram in general are quite big. However, it didn’t look any less than a Bollywood film set because right from the college entrance to the main block the scenery was amazing. The road that led to the academic block was 100 times better than the roads of Gurugram in general. The garden was greener than the gardens of the south. The buildings were better than IT parks. So full marks for infrastructure as the college was beautiful inside out. From reception to classrooms, everything in NCU is centrally air-conditioned. Mark my words, if anyone from a rural area comes to NCU, they will die wondering.

Unlike DU colleges where there are many social clubs and societies, NCU has very few. So social life inside the campus wasn’t that happening. Apart from annual sports meets and cultural events, there was nothing that is worth boasting about. NCU needs to buck up big time because students don’t just come for studies but to enjoy campus life as well. Canteen was probably the only hangout place inside the campus.
