Review of Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bangalore

Overall Rating
The college was established in 1979 and is among the oldest colleges of Bengaluru. The college is present in the middle of Bengaluru. It has bus, metro, and train connectivity. It has decent placements with an average package of 7 LPA. The CSE, ISE, and ECE departments have better placements as compared to other departments.
 

Academics Rating
The college is affiliated to VTU and provides courses for almost all the engineering streams. The college takes admission through KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test), COMED-K (for non-Karnataka students). It also has limited seats available for management quota. The fee structure is around 1Lakh/year for students through CET. It varies for other quotas.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties in my (ECE) department are highly qualified and some of them even hold Ph.D degree. But many of them are not good at teaching and explaining the concepts. Each department has around 30 faculties which include one HOD, 5-6 associate professors, and the rest are assistant professors and lab teachers. All department faculties use chalk-board method for teaching; there are very few presentations during labs.
 

Placement Rating
The college has good placements with an average of 6-7 LPA. The college has a dedicated Training and Placement Centre which conducts seminars and other events very rarely. The students cannot rely on this Training Centre for their placements. The placement trend varies every year. The highest package goes around 25-30 LPA and minimum package is around 2 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
The college has hostels for both boys and girls. The boys’ hostel is situated nearby and has around 1000+ seats for all students (of 4 years). The hostel fee is around 1 Lakh to 1.25 Lakh for a year. They provide food and all other facilities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has poor infrastructure. The campus is not as large and attractive as compared to other colleges. But has all the necessary requirements for a student. The college has a well facilitated library. It also has a seminar hall. But classroom are quite old, including the benches, which are getting replaced now.
 

Campus Rating
The college, even though has a small campus, but still provides a good campus life. The college has around 30+ student clubs out of which 20 are active. Each department has its own ‘students association club’. The college conducts an annual fest called as ‘Manthan’, which is celebrated on a grand scale. The college also conducts Alumni meets, industry academia events, etc.

  • Magical fests at Bangalore Institute of Technology

    Our Institute is located in the heart of the city and you can commute through BMTC buses or metro. The institute doesn't have much space for sports and some of the instruments for branches like Mechanical might not work but the labs are maintained well.... Read Full Review

    Being one of the top engineering institutes in Bangalore, BIT is a very good place for a student to reach his/her educational goals and to improve and exhibit their skills.BIT is good at each and every step of education i.e. environment, faculty, culture, placements, etc. As it is situated inside Bangalore and surrounded by many educational institutes, a student will have good opportunities over here.     Bangalore Institute of Technology is on the top colleges in Karnataka under Visvesvaraya Technical University. This college is located in the city centre and makes the transportation easy. The faculty here is also good. The fests are done once in often and there are multiple clubs to encourage the student’s desire. The labs, library and the sports management are well equipped.
