NIT Srinagar from a Student's Perspective

Overall Rating
NIT Srinagar is one of the most prestigious institutes of our country. It not only provides quality education but it also provides great real life experiences to the students. It is not easy to get into this college in the first place but when you get in, your life changes. The faculty is exceptional with highly qualified teachers. Even the technicians are very qualified. Practical application of theoretical knowledge is also very good. Plus the campus is located on the banks of famous Dal lake which adds to the experience.
 

Academics Rating
My course is MME and NITs and IITs are the only institutes providing this course. So, there is a lot of scope and a lot of opportunities in this field. Metallurgical engineering is not very easy per say but it is worth the work. The course is 4 years long and the college provides very good placements and opportunities for further studies.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is highly qualified. Almost every member of the faculty has a Ph.D in their respective fields and in addition to that, they possess exceptional communication skills which according to me, is as important as their qualification The teachers at times provide us with knowledge that is not even a part of our course but will in one way or other help the students.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the institute provides placements. More than 90% students get placed with the highest package of about 40 LPA and average package of about 15 LPA. Students get placed in various prestigious companies like Microsoft, Tata steel, etc.
 

Hostel Rating
I am not a hosteller but whenever I visit the hostel to meet my friends, the infrastructure never disappoints. Very good rooms with great ventilation are there. Plenty of space to study and the scenic beauty of Srinagar add to the experience.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is exceptional in our institute. There is plenty of space for parking of vehicles. There are very well maintained classrooms which are equipped with smart boards. Heating and cooling systems are provided in every classroom. Seats are placed in such a way that no matter where one sits, the teacher will always have an eye on him.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is the best part of our institute. It not only has classrooms to study but playgrounds to lessen the burden of studies. A lot of parks are present with every hostel having a park in front of it. Well equipped gym is present in the campus. Both indoor and outdoor sports facilities are offered.

    National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is one of the premier educational institutes in the Northern Regions of the country. The institute is full of beautiful spots and scenery, here, serenity truly meets the technology. The view of Dal Lake is just breathtaking and with mountains at the background is just cherry on top.     First of all, the institute is very beautiful as it is situated in the best part of Kashmir. You can feel every season here. The temperature rises up to 35 degrees but can even fall to -5 degrees in winter. You can enjoy snowfall on campus along with rain and autumn. In autumn the institute turns into a movie spot as there are chinar leaves everywhere in the institute which make it so beautiful.... Read Full Review
