Review of NIT Silchar

Overall Rating
Our institute is very peaceful. We have experienced faculty. The college surroundings have greenery with nature. We have football ground, cricket ground, and an indoor stadium as well. The placements are very good with good packages. There is very less amount of pollution in the college. I would not refer anyone to join this college because the placement percentage is getting low.
 

Academics Rating
There are 6 branches in the B.Tech; they are civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering, and mechanical engineering. The eligibility is through JEE Mains. The previous year certificates are compulsory, especially the 12th and 10th certificates.
 

Faculty Rating
Our faculty is very experienced and very talented. They will teach in English. Some of them had their last research in a very good institute and some of them had their final education in good institutes. They will explain everything in a good manner which is understandable to each and every one. They have a good style of teaching.
 

Placement Rating
Until last year, the college had very good placement percentage but this year the placements were not that good as compared to last year. The college will be conducting some summer internships for the students. The college is tied up with some IITs for conducting some programs.
 

Hostel Rating
In some hostels, the food is not at all good. The food is good in some hostels only. Sometimes we have to face water shortage. There are 1, 2, and 3 member rooms in our college. The washrooms are also not that good. Mess food is not that hygienic and nutritious.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is very good in our college. There is an academic block which is the first building when you enter into the college. There is a guest house beside the academic block which has a beautiful infrastructure. There is each building for respective branches in our college. The lab infrastructure is very old in some labs.
 

Campus Rating
In an annual year, there are two fests. There is a technical fest and a cultural fest. There are so many sports clubs, technical clubs, and non technical clubs in our college. Clubs are very active during college timings. There is a huge participation by the students in the clubs to showcase their hidden talents.

    NIT Silchar is a good institute. I joined this institute through CSAB counseling. I selected this institute because of its placement record. This institute has better placement percentage than any other tier 2 institutes especially in core branches. Campus life of this institute also attracted me.     My 1st semester is passed and now I am in second semester of my first year. My overall experience of my first semester is average as few things are hectic. I got make some good and bad friends. Factor that made me choose this institute is that it lies in the northeast region of India and I wanted to experience its beauty.     I am a student at NIT Silchar pursuing B.Tech in electronics and communication engineering. Overall my experience in NIT Silchar is good. I have made lots of friends here. The reason I choose NIT Silchar is that it is very close to my home town i.e. just 8 hours and the NIRF ranking is also good.     The overall experience in NIT Silchar is not bad. I chose this Institute because it has the sports facilities and it is in my interest. The natural environment is appreciable. The placement is also decent. In NIT Silchar, ragging is strictly prohibited which lacks in many Institutes. The clubs and societies are very active helping students to showcase their talent.     National Institute of Technology, Silchar has one of the most beautiful and lush green campus across all NIT's in India. Infrastructure, faculty, facilities, academics, and classrooms are very well maintained. There is the campus of 625 acres with many different things around the whole institute.
