Overall Rating
The institution is quite good in terms of academics but, in terms of student life and entertainment, it is below average with minimal events and programmers. Overall, it is a good college if you are serious with academics and don't focus much on extracurricular. But the entertainment part won't be much of an issue if you can make some good friends.
 

Academics Rating
Admission is through KCET, COMED-K, and Management. KCET ranking is minimum 2k for general merit for upper branches and COMED-K is within 3-4k. The courses offered are the same as any engineering college with the expected branches. To get admission through Management quota you just need above 80% in boards.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is quite experienced with multiple Ph.D holders and healthy teaching skills. They have a traditional old school method of teaching but with a few new aspects of technology. They conduct quizzes and stuff through phones / computers. The correction pattern and strictness is similar to that of a school.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell is highly talked about here, they do give a lot of importance to placements and usually the packages are above 10-15 LPA on an average for CS stream students.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel is average and food is alright. It is not too good but the rooms aren't completely bad either.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is quaint and not too big like you'd expect from that of an IIT. There are buildings in every corner, there are a few patches of green here and there but the campus could've been more spread out instead of being confined like it is. The construction of new RVU buildings seems to be taking more time than expected.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life in RV is all about how we make it fun, there isn't much provided by the college, a handful of fests are organised in a year. The 8th mile fest organised once in two years, but it is celebrated grandly with the inclusion of celebrities, talented students and fun events.

    RVCE Bangalore is an amazing College. The infrastructure of the campus is good. It also has strong alumni network. Most of the faculties are helpful and understanding.     The overall experience at the college was amazing. The college takes exam every month but it builds your character as well. I chose this college because it is well reputed and has well qualified teachers as well.     RVCE is a very well-known and respected institute of Bangalore. Since I have been living in Bangalore for the past 13 years it was on my list. I chose RVCE because the placement statistics were really impressive, and it is situated in the IT hub Bangalore. However, after joining the college I realized how placement oriented the college is and how much academic pressure they can put.     I personally like every aspect of the college, right from their curriculum to their faculty. There are many opportunities for students aspiring to be great engineers. The only thing is one should know how to manage time here since our course schedule is very hectic. The placements of this college attracted me the most.... Read Full Review
