Miranda From the Lens of an Insider

Overall Rating
Miranda House is a wonderful institution that provides a safe space, exposure, opportunities and great academic exposure. The infrastructure, fests, college canteen and campus life is something worth mentioning. Being the number one college of India, it has proven its mettle as the best college of India. Miranda House is and will continue to be a premier institute.
 

Academics Rating
Admission takes place through the CUET exams. I scored 794/800, and got admission into BA Honors Political Science. My motive of taking up political science was my interest in pursuing the civil services in the future. Being the top college, cut offs are highly competitive, and close for general quota at 787 approximately (political science).
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is very qualified and ranges from permanent staff to guest lecturers. They adopt different teaching styles and expose us to out of the box methods of learning concepts. Although classes get cancelled often, but syllabus is completed on time. Sometimes the teaching styles are outdated.
 

Placement Rating
We have a placement cell which sets up annual internship and job fairs, through which I have managed to secure an internship with the Indian HEMPSTORE. Campus placement is limited but there is a portal available that updates the job and internship vacancies for Miranda house students.
 

Hostel Rating
We have a hostel which costs 70k a year approximately. But it doesn't have air conditioning and is offered very selectively to top scorers and those who live beyond a 60 mile radius of Delhi NCR.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is top notch. We have a college canteen, Nescafe and 2 more eateries with top quality food. The library is well stocked and accessible at all times. The labs are very well built and air conditioning is available in limited classrooms. The auditorium is beautiful and science block has state of the art classrooms and amenities.
 

Campus Rating
Miranda houses annual cultural fest tempest occurs every year in April. Additionally every department and society also organise their fests in March April. The extracurricular is acknowledged and provides exposure. Campus life in DU north campus is very fun as we get to attend every college’s fests and explore locations on campus with friends, go for chai in the evenings at sudama, explore the ridge and ride on YULUs.

    This is one of the best colleges. It offers a wide range of courses to choose from. The ambience of this college is relaxed and calm. The college library is huge with good resources.     Miranda house is a women college affiliated with Delhi University. It has been ranked number 1 among colleges by NIRF ranking 2023. It has been accredited with a grade A+ in first cycle and A++ in second cycle by NAAC. As women it is proud to be a part of institution that has brought laurels at various levels.   • Life at Miranda House College
     

    Overall Rating
    As I'm currently perusing my bachelor's honors degree in Botany here. The college campus is so beautiful with a hint of British-Indo architecture and beautiful lawns and gardens. Teachers are so enthusiastic about their work and what they are teaching to us. Department and college offer multiple carrier counseling lectures, workshops and even paid and unpaid internship programs.
