Miranda House College New Delhi has Single, Double, Triple, & Quadruple Rooms at Hostels

I will be very honest on what is so special about our college Miranda House College. We all aspire to get maximum benefits or maximum gain at a bearable cost. Our college provides the best education facilities, best faculty members, good infrastructure, and hostel facility at a very affordable price. I am fully satisfied with my college and I feel privileged to be a part of it. I am glad that I am pursuing my graduation degree from here.

I am currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Botany (Hons.) To get into this college, one needs to give CUET exam with subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. The marks would be calculated for three subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The total marks are calculated from 600. If you are scoring around 500+, then you are very much eligible to be the part of this college. Admission process is very simple, you just need to check website and arrange all the mentioned documents that are needed to submit in the college. The frequency of exam in this course is relatively high, compared to other courses, as there are internal tests, then there might be some mocks exams as well before your final exam. In the final exam, each core subject has a practical and a theory exam. The marks are calculated considering both the internal and external exams.

The fee for the Botany (Hons.) is Rs. 19,800/- per year, which is very affordable price. This fee includes the tuition fees and the registration fees which amounts to Rs. 186/-. There is no other charge except for the amount mentioned above. But, there is a medical facility in our college which requires to submit around Rs. 200/- per semester to have the access for college students. If you belong to SC/ST category, then you are exempted to pay the tuition and registration fees. There are many scholarship opportunities for various and categories and for students belonging to various states. Apart from these, there is also a common scholarship available for all UG students by Reliance.

To be very honest, the faculty here in Miranda House College is very friendly and approachable. In Botany, you won't feel that you are in college as all teachers pay too much attention on a single child that gives you a feeling of being in the school only. All the faculty members in are very talented and have a high degree of education, most of them have PhD from renowned colleges, and many of them have remained the toppers of their time. The method of teaching depends on teachers, some teachers prefer to show the PPTs and then they explain the concepts on the board, while others prefer to explain only hard concepts on the board. Some teachers include group discussions too. The Problem solving abilities of the teachers are amazing, they are very approachable and never say no to your problems. My experience has been going very well, I love all my teachers and they love us all.

There is a placement cell in Miranda House College that is very cooperative and collaborative. You can be a part of the same. There is an annual job placement and internship fair in our college, which is ‘Chrysalis’. You can get offers from various companies for job and internships. Offers come from even big companies like Amazon and Godrej.

The college does offer residential facilities. There is a hostel in the college campus itself so if you are enrolled in the hostel you don't need to bear travel costs. Miranda House Hostel has 172 rooms on twin sharing basis, 1 single room, rooms with triple sharing and 3 rooms with four-sharing. All rooms have beautifully designed furniture that includes single bed with storage box, and drawer and fitted mattress. There is a study table with an overhead tube light too. There are total 7 pantries with a refrigerator, microwave oven, induction cooker, etc. The mess food is okay. Food is different for all the seven days in a week. There is mess staff who assists you with the food. The food is served four times a day (breakfast, lunch, teatime and dinner). The hostel fee is paid in two instalments; each instalment is paid in the respective semesters of a year. The 1st instalment at the time of admission is Rs. 32,190/-, which includes security deposit of Rs. 5000/- too. The second instalment is of Rs. 26,750/-. Hostel is very strict in terms of security, guests are allowed to meet students only in the respective timings. Else, nobody is allowed to enter the hostel except college students. Students are required to mention the time of arrival and departure in late night to ensure security. I am staying in the hostel itself and I am quite satisfied with my hostel and all the facilities provided by the college to us.

Miranda House College's campus is very beautiful and is considered one of the most beautiful campuses among all the colleges of Delhi University. The walking path is paved with beautiful flowers of different varieties. There are different blocks for various courses. There is a main block and a science block. The main block is for arts students pursuing B.A programs. The science block is for science students; it is separated for all the courses in science (Botany , Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics). The campus size is huge and it is situated in the Chhatra Marg, University of Delhi. There are three floors with almost 50+ classes rooms overall. The classroom size is huge accommodating around 40-50 students. There is AC in some of the classrooms. There is a central library in our college available to all students from different courses, apart from this; there are department libraries as well. There is a single big auditorium with AC and a mini auditorium. There are two seminar halls in our college. There is a single conference hall as well. There is a main canteen where different types of food are available at pocket friendly prices. Nescafe, PAM and a millet canteen is there too. There are two sports grounds, a tennis ground, and a basketball ground. There is a projector in every classroom, and also a black board, which compliments your study timings with better understandings. My favourite place is obviously the Botany department and the canteen where I end my day with a tea or juice.

The campus life is indescribable for me. I am a hosteller, so the college holds a special position in my heart. It feels like my second home to me. The college crowd is normal like you won't feel suffocated in the college except for the ending time of the college as students rush towards either home or canteen. There are many clubs that would suit your interest. There are two dance clubs, one for classical and one for western dance. Classical and western singing club are separate too. There is an acting club, fine arts society, debating society, etc. There are various extracurricular activities organised by these clubs and societies for their respective interests. There is a fest for each department and once the fest season starts, your interest will no more lie in your studies. Then there is a common fest for the college students, which lasts for two days. Various activities are performed during these two days, singers are invited, concert experience is there, etc. My experience is very overwhelming for me to explain, if you are one who is very serious for your studies and want to get graduation from a renowned college then, this is your destination. In conclusion, I would say that in my eyes, Miranda House College is best in all ways.
