Hindu College Delhi: From Lush Gardens to Quality Facilities

Hindu College, New Delhi was my dream college and I felt extremely happy, the moment I saw that I have been allotted to it. Coming into the college was indeed an overwhelming experience. I got several friends here, who are just amazing. The reason I chose this college was that it was at number 1 position in Political Science Honors among all the other colleges of DU.

I am in my first year of graduation. To be eligible to get a seat in this college for my course, you must score above 790 marks. Cutoff is really very high. I scored 799 out of 800. The reason for such high cutoff is that this course is not offered by many colleges of DU.

Faculty of the college is good. But if you have very high expectations that your faculty should be extremely good in teaching, then that expectation might not come true. What I personally believe after interacting with other students of different courses as well as a student’s of other colleges is that the level of faculty of each and every college of DU is almost same. At the end, it's your hard work & your dedication that will give you the fruit and not the kind of faculty.

Yes, we do have a good placement cell in Hindu College, New Delhi. The students who are pursuing B.Com course as well as Economic Honors are given an edge. It's not like that the Arts students cannot get any kind of placement or an internship but the preference is given to the students who are pursuing the courses other than Arts. It may sound harsh but its reality.

The college offers hostel facilities. Infrastructure of college is pretty good. I didn't get hostel because extremely low number of students get a room in the hostel, as there are limited number of rooms. Those who have scored almost full or just 1 or 2 less mark gets the hostel facilities. Food from what I have heard is also nice. It's hygienic. Many kinds of activities are often organized in the hostel.

I am satisfied with infrastructure of Hindu College, New Delhi. It's extremely good. College has verdant garden. The greenery of the college makes me fall in love with the campus of the college every time. Our college also has water coolers, which gives a decent quality of water. Apart from this, college canteen is also pretty good with reasonable prices. Library of the college is also amazing, which allows us to issue book for many days (like almost a month) without taking any charge.

I believe, this college gives you the best college life. The crowd of the college is just amazing. You will get good opportunities to interact with the brightest minds of the country. The kind of personality development which you will witness is something, which you will not find in any other college. There are several societies in our college, which you can join for your personality growth. ‘Mecca’ is the annual college fest where we enjoy, participate and have tasty food. Its astounding vibes are just unexplainable. Also, one thing I would like to say is that the attendance is compulsory in the college; without 67% of the attendance you won't be able to give your semester exams. So, yeah that could be an issue if you live a little far from the college. I am enjoying and improving a lot here.
