How does it feel to be in Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur

Overall Rating
I got enrolled in IIT Kanpur in 2022 in Electrical Engineering. Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur is considered to be the best in all the IITs because of its extensive coverage of both EEE and ECE. The branch is having a capacity of 200 students making it highly competitive. You have to be prepared for cut throat competition.
 

Academics Rating
The academics in IIT Kanpur are considered tough as compared to other IITs. The grading system is relative. If your aggregate in the course is 50% and you are topper in the course then there are high chances you will get an A. This looks good at first sight but if you got 50% aggregate and you are the least scorer then be prepared for an E or F. But even if you study diligently for 15-20 hours a week you are good to go.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties at IIT Kanpur have proved themselves at multiple times of need for the nation. It was the first institute to predict the stats of spread of COVID-19. It is the first institute to achieve the artificial rain. Multiple research opportunities are present throughout the campus and you can meet a researcher at every few footsteps. Stupendous faculties, A level facilities will add to one's research experience.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are the major attraction for the students joining IIT Kanpur. The stats explain the reason for their attraction to the institute. The average package touches a whooping 20 lakh even in the time of recession.
 

Hostel Rating
IIT Kanpur is spread over an area of 1055. There are 15 hostels in the institutes with an average capacity of 600. The facilities are good. The first year UG students get to reside in the Hall 13 that is top notch in terms of infrastructure. It has over 4 badminton courts, 2 volleyball courts, one basketball court and an indoor place to enjoy board games and table tennis. There is a washing area with 10 washing machines in working state.
 

Infrastructure Rating
In terms of infrastructure, IIT Kanpur is the best IIT. The library at IIT Kanpur is a home to over one lakh documents and books. The academic area is fully air conditioned. The roads are highly maintained with a separate path for both the pedestrians and cycle users. The main mode of transport is cycle in the institute. You can find cycle parking area everywhere. The research infrastructure is of the utmost quality in the nation. Labs have equipment and machinery of over billions INR.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is the main reason of joining for most of the people. The campus has student count of 9 thousand students. There are over net total of 50 clubs, societies and cells to be a part of. Everyone can pursue thing of their interest. If you don't find what interests you, you can start it by yourself. You will be given funding by the institute if there is ample number of interested individuals. There are three major fests. All of them run over a span of three to four days attracting students not only from nearby colleges but also from top DU colleges.
