Comprehensive Review of Panjab University, Chandigarh

Overall Rating
Overall it has been a great experience studying here. The lush green, very spacious campus and the beautiful flowers are cherry on the cake. Faculty is highly qualified and helpful. Academics are great and campus life is good. Hostels and food is also good. Staying here has been best experience of my life.
 

Academics Rating
Course: B.Sc (Hons.) Chemistry. Eligibility: 12th pass + Merit based on entrance exam PUCET. It is a MCQ based exam which has to be passed for admission. Some weightage is also given to 10th & 10+2 score and based on these factors admission is offered. Motive: chemistry is interesting subject and it offers great career scope.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are great. Everyone is Ph.D holder from reputed institutes in India and abroad. They provide assistance with doubts, study material and reference material. They are always approachable and they guide about various career prospects. Teaching style is very easy and inclusive. interactive sessions are also organised to make students feel comfortable.
 

Placement Rating
Yes a very active placement cell is there. Students are also part of that. It definitely helps in getting placed in good companies.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes 10 hostels for girls, 8 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for international students are there. Hostels are spacious. There is a bed, fan, table and chair in each room. All rooms are double sharing with common washrooms & bathrooms. An AC common room, gym, parlor, tuck shop and guest room is also there. My hostel has a small temple too. Mess and canteen food is good. they also offer a variety of food. Every festival is celebrated in hostels. Freshers and farewell programs are also held here.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Each department has its own building but some departments have shared buildings also. There are well equipped labs and classrooms have smart digital boards. Each department has its own auditorium and some departments have museums too. Spacious parking facilities and open grounds are also there in the campus.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is good, senior are helpful and interactive. No tolerance for ragging is there. Rose festival is held in February every year. Other fests, concerts and interactive programs are also there. Very spacious grounds for sports, shooting range, swimming pool, and gym are also available here. Campus is very beautiful and there is a Student Centre wherein food courts are available.

    One of the top government Universities of India is Panjab University. The location is very prime as well as the crowd here is very diverse. The Engineering department of PU is one of the major attractions for the fresh students as it provides good opportunity and a minimal cost.
