PES University B.Tech Review By Vedantika Sharma

I am studying in RR campus PES University. The overall experience in the college is good. If I talk about the campus, the campus is huge and the facilities given to the students are quite good. I am enjoying my experience in the college. There are two libraries provided for the students. The attendance limit is 75% which is good. The faculty members are well experienced and knowledgeable but not very good at delivering the knowledge to the students.

The course that I have enrolled for is B.Tech in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning). Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is a new course started in the college last year. There are not many faculties for this course. The entry requirement for college used is an entrance Exam called PESSAT but now entry can also be based on JEE exam result. The college is actually known for its Computer Science course but I could not get a seat in Computer Science therefore I continued in the course Computer Science (AI and ML).

The faculty members are very knowledgeable and highly educated. Most of them are also very much experienced but most of the faculty members lack the ability to deliver their knowledge to the students. But I have to say that the faculty members are very much supportive and friendly towards the students. They are very helpful. In my course, that is Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, there are only few faculty members as of now since it is a new course introduced, but all of them are very knowledgeable. New teachers are being added to the department gradually. The faculty members also provide study materials to the students to study from.

Yes, the institute has a placement cell. The college is actually known for its placements as it claims to provide 100% placements to the students. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA. Yes the placement cell is helpful for students to acquire jobs. There are also internships offered to the students by the college from many departmental labs. The internships are done under the mentorship of faculty members.

Yes there is a hostel facility provided. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The boy’s hostel is present inside the campus itself while the girl’s hostel has 3 to 4 units present outside the campus. There is also bus service available for the hostel students. There are 3 mess for boys hostel and there is also laundry service available in both girls and boys hostel. The food in girl’s hostel is not very good.

The infrastructure of the college is something that I like about it the most. The infrastructure built is beautiful especially the new library built is very huge and has a very good environment for the students to study. There is also a new auditorium built recently which is huge. There are 5 blocks in the college. There are also 3 canteens in the college. Inside the college there are shops and Café Coffee Day outlet for the students. There are different facilities for extracurricular activities like badminton court, dance room, yoga room, a very big and beautifully constructed gym, football ground, cricket ground, squash and much more.

The campus life is pretty good. The students are friendly towards each other. There are many students from north India and from Kerala. There are many college clubs that the students can be a part of. A lot of fests are not organised here, but there is a big fest that is organised every year by the college, and students tend to enjoy it very much and actively take part in that fest. The name of the fest is Atmatrisha which is organised every year and lasts for a weeks. Comedy night and concerts are also organised during this fest. There are also inter department football tournament held by the students.
