The overall review of the institute which I will give as a third-year student is that the institute has a great research facility. The faculties are well-qualified from reputed foreign universities and national institutes like IITs. The institute is on the outskirts due to a moderate area of infrastructure. The main focus of the institute is on academic building and industrial excellence in its students. The RGIPT is an ideal choice for Petroleum and Chemical Enthusiasts. The RGIPT is built on the line of IITs and is an Institute of National Importance, Governed by the Ministry of Natural Gas and Petroleum.

RGIPT takes admission from direct JEE Advanced and if there are any remaining seats those are filled by the rank of JEE Mains. RGIPT has its own admission process which starts along with JoSSA counseling. There are three rounds, where you get seats according to your ranks. RGIPT also takes lateral entry in the Petroleum and Chemical department. RGIPT also has a student exchange program with the University of Adelaide in the Petroleum Department.

The faculties of RGIPT are well qualified. Many of the faculties are educated at reputed foreign universities like the University of Oklahoma. Especially the professors of core branches have a lot of academic experience and many publications and patents under their name. The teaching style is nice as they are quite knowledgeable. Hence, if you pay attention in the classes you will be left with minimal doubts.

There is an overall placement cell, coordinating with departmental placement cells at the institute. The placement cell helps the students to get settled in their life after RGIPT. Even a lot of Alumni work in PSUs at very high and good positions. Many of the students study in foreign universities like in the University of Houston.

The hostels are well built and are very good in shape. A room accommodates two people and it's quite spacious. The C-block has an attached washroom with rooms and other blocks have public washrooms and those are cleaned daily by janitors. The hostels have basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, and badminton courts. For indoor games, there is a snooker room, Table tennis, dance room, music room, FMC room, and separate gyms for boys and girls. These hostels also have three messes and accommodate a large number of students at a time.

The overall infrastructure of RGIPT is well-built. The academic blocks are fully air conditioned with electric lecterns and projectors in the class. There are many labs that have great equipment. There is also an incubation center with workshop machines. There is also a night canteen that is open from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM and a canteen open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. RGIPT also has a BOB bank with ATM machine, Bakery shop, Post office, and Commercial complex. Best thing about the campus is that it also has a health center and guest hostel with faculty buildings.

The overall institute life is quite good in RGIPT. One thing for sure is that if you choose RGIPT, it going to provide you with good industrial exposure. The extracurricular life is also good, there are many events that are conducted on a regular basis and many international conferences also take place at RGIPT.
