M. Tech is one course where girls are still seen as strangers. I love breaking the stereotypes, which landed me at MIT, which is known for good things to happen. A lot of pain was finding the best colleges as there are plenty to choose from. NIT, Surathkal is definitely the best and then comes Visvesvaraya, Ramaiah Institute of Technology and others. All colleges may be the same, but its hostel differentiated MIT from others. MIT is like a world within, and you never have to step out as everything was available within the campus. MIT believes in developing, which makes MIT's education better than the others. The way they have organized and systemized teaching has ensured that students have the best learning. About infrastructure, I will write in detail as it is worth mentioning many of the points at the campus.

I will credit the system as theory and practical were divided in a way that students will never miss out on anything. Not just theory but even the practicals were recorded, and students who have missed can take help from their class mater or even the faculty to repeat a session. The course is utterly relevant to the industry requirements. Many topics were added between the semesters as every new technology that has come during the course; we were given a gist on that. Our college was simply outstanding in terms of academics.

MIT believes in the skin in the game, and the skin of any institution is the faculty. Therefore, the university has hired some of the best faculties and also keeps their work in check. Students had enough power to lodge complaints against the teachers, and the management took due action. The faculty, therefore, were like gloves in hands with the students. The faculty always had something interesting on their mind, and they never shied away from sharing it with the students. Out of many things that they did well, they made sure that classes were always entertaining.

MIT has many courses and many students, but MIT has never put its shoulders down to make sure that students are placed to the best of their abilities. MIT invites many domestic and international IT companies to its fore and some of them even monitor students progress right from the internship. Companies like Microsoft, Apple, LensKart, and Infosys were all present to take students attendance for the job interview. There weren’t any grades in jobs as the college disclosed only the average and during 2017 batch of ours, the average package was 8 LPA. 8 out 10 had campus placements while the rest had to fight with the outside world for placements. I was among the 8 out of 10 and even though I don't hate to say this, placements could have been a little better.

Hostels were the main reason for me choosing this college. There are various girls’ hostels, and one can choose from a plethora of room sizes. The mess was also plenty as one can choose their kind of palate and then choose the mess. The mess that served north Indian style of cooking, the south Indian style of cooking, and others. Vegetarian mess and a non-vegetarian mess to choose from. There was also a Jain mess at the college. We were not allowed to leave the campus after 8 pm, but there was no stopping for us to roam inside the campus for as long as we wanted. Night canteens would operate till late night, and we kept those canteens quite busy till wee hours in the morning.

MIT was like a society that had institutional buildings just like the offices. Shopping complex with medical shops, gift shops, restaurants, and general stores. There were four or maybe five auditoriums at the campus. The college campus will look just like a modern society with all amenities from hindsight. There was a park inside the campus and had a coffee shop close to it. An amphitheatre with a seating capacity of over 1000 students. I may miss out on many things but can't on the F1 circuit inside the campus. It wasn't as big but still big enough for students to build cars and experiment. It was a joint research program for students of mechanical and IT students as technology was designed by IT students and mechanical students made machinery.

I just have been to two colleges but can challenge if anyone says that the campus life of their college was better than ours. Ours was perhaps the best as thousands of students from all over the country at one place were simply outstanding. The fests were amazing and technical events and incubation centre buzzing with project lights all around the year. Friendly people, amazing infrastructure, and great diversity at the campus made campus life to live for once in a lifetime.
