MIT Manipal: From the Lens of Sophomore

Overall Rating
My overall experience so far at the college has been impeccable as the kind of crowd that we have here is something I bet one will not find elsewhere. Not just students from different Indian cities, but we have international students. Studies are great and unwinding facilities and amazing academics.
 

Academics Rating
We have a specific curriculum and academics is quite rigorous. We have to participate in industrial training and take up their projects. Those projects are not reviewed by institute management but are reviewed by the industry people and there are no negotiations there. So, our academics are challenging and it is sure that we will be well prepared to solve real-life problems in future.
I am pursuing Engineering in Cyber Physical Systems and for that the fee is around 4 Lakh, but because I got over 9 CGPA in my first year, I got 20% scholarship in my second year.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is good and professional. All professors in terms of their degrees and professionalism are number one but in terms of personal camaraderie with them, students usually decently adjust with them. So, it's a pure math equation, that you play your part by attending and being attentive in lectures and they will play their by teaching us in the best of their abilities.
 

Placement Rating
It goes without saying that half the students are picked from their internships only and rest half from campus placements. The institute takes great care in making sure that their students are placed well.
 

Hostel Rating
At 2 Lakh, you can book yourself a two seater room and in 2.5 Lakh, a single room. Mess was average and from 2nd year, we have the choice whether to opt for mess or not.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The institute is 70 years and therefore most blocks are old now. A few new blocks have been built now. A newly constructed library building with unlimited books is the place to find peace as otherwise campus is a happening place. Amphitheatre is always filled with students doing open mics or are seen dancing. Auditoriums are huge and even classes are double the size of what total number of students are in each class.
 

Campus Rating
MIT Manipal is a very happening place and it balances well between academics and fun. All events are enjoyable and campus life is great. I recommend all engineering students to opt for this institute.

    My experience at MIT Manipal has been quite good overall. It may not be perfect, but it is a solid balance between academics and student life. A typical day for me includes attending classes, going to the gym, studying a bit, hanging out with friends over dinner, and taking a walk around campus, which is one of the most peaceful things to do here in my opinion.     I was bit hesitant to join this institute but my opinion changed completely after joining it. The faculty is amazing and solves our doubts without hesitation. The infrastructure of institute is just phenomenal. It has an indoor arena, which has excellent facilities. The research facility is also best.     MIT Manipal has a wide variety of student projects and clubs which are very active and help in gaining skills. You also get a free Coursera subscription which is an added benefit. The opportunities and possibilities are endless at MIT Manipal. Despite it having the party college tag, it is a really wonderful college where you can meet a wide variety of people.
