DIT University B.Tech Review By Jessica Singh

I am writing an in-depth review while being in third year of my bachelor’s degree at DIT. I chose this university because of its promising staff, breathtaking location and the strong academic result. Now I'd brief you upon my experience of the first year: I found it easy to blend in here. It was easy to make friends and the campus is ragging free. I have never been harassed here nor have I harassed any of my junior. However, students can report to the concerned authorities if they experience something like that. The hostel mess food was also so similar to that of my home. I felt like I fit right in. The seniors were also very caring. The faculty, the infrastructure, everything was known to me well. Since I'm currently in my third year, now I look after my juniors and help them if they ever need my help.

The course that I'm currently pursing is B.Tech (CSE). The result of DIT in this particular branch is what impressed me the most. The entry requirements are as follows: at least 60% in 12th boards. A thing to keep in mind is that if you're from Nepal, make sure you get your Pan card issued because it's essential for placements. If you're from Jammu and Kashmir then domicile certificate. You should also carry your passport sized pictures.

The faculties in DIT are expert at what they do. A lot of the teachers are alumnies of respected institutes like NIT and IIT's. They're well versed and help you out in case you're having doubts. Besides the normal classes that go on, there's this additional "tutorials" here the class is divided in two groups, so the teacher to student ratio could further be optimized to its fullest, in the tutorials you're further given more questions to solve and get yourself more familiar to foreign concepts and topics in order to further strengthen your grasp and hold on the particular subject. You can also, further visit the faculty members in their cabins during their visiting hours with your doubts. The faculty is very helping. They never make you feel like you're left behind.

Yes, we do have a placement cell. The placements are good. Every student with a minimum CGPA of at least 6 is mostly always promised a placement. The placement range from 6-20 LPA with some students who perform exceptionally well bagging up to 50 LPA. In our third year, we're given subjects related with our placements only like aptitude training and building soft skills.

The hostels are really well maintained. The house keepers clean the room once a week but you can get it cleaned as often you'd wish to. There are three lifts in our hostel. The electrical supply never goes out as there's a generator. Your study tables are also well lit. The washrooms are always kept clean and hygienic. The hostel mess timings are as follows: Breakfast-7-9 AM, Lunch-12-2 PM, Snacks 5-7 PM and Dinner 7-9 PM. The food is always hygienic.

The campus is 25 acres large. The buildings for the first years are different. Then classes for 2nd to the 3rd year are held in another building. The buildings for B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Des and BCA are different. A lift is provided in each building which is a lifesaver. There's also a well maintained lawn, where most people sit in between classes during winters and to take a walk in during the evening after the classes end.

"Sphurti" is an annual fest for sports where different colleges from across the nation come and compete against each other. The energy is uncanny and unmatched. We live for the last moment victories. There's also a three day fest "Youthopia" in which different stalls are put across campus. On the second night, a musical fest takes places with different dance and music performances and last night is for concert where the invite in a singer and we have a blast.
