Chanakya National Law University BA+LLB Review By Sonam

The university is a National Law University and therefore takes admission through the CLAT examination and counseling procedure. The university is situated in the heart of the city and therefore almost everything is accessible easily from here. I chose this institute because it is an NLU and holds great value. My overall experience in the institute is quite wholesome.

In the undergraduate program there are two types of courses one is integrated course of Bachelor of Arts and LL.B (B.A.LL.B) and the other is Bachelor of Business Administration and LL.B (BBA LL.B). The admission is taken after CLAT examination and the cut off differs from year to year.

The faculty of the university is well versed in their subjects and is highly educated in their field of practice. But there is lack of faculty members, which burdens the existing faculty. The course layout is quite impressive and at the end of the semester, the administration also involves student’s opinion in course construction.

The placement cell of the University is not much active. The placement rate is very less, like 3-4 students get placed each year. Other students get placed through their own merits and are offered PPOs due to their internships.

The University has separate hostel facilities for girls and boys. There is double occupancy as well as single occupancy. Each room has a separate balcony. The dining area itself is on the ground floor of the hostel. The hostels have gym area and badminton court, and a common hall containing indoor gaming setup like carrom, table tennis, etc. for recreational purposes. The hostel also has dispensary and medical attendant present all the time.

The campus of the University is quite well built. The academic block has the lecture halls which have been renovation recently and turned into highly advanced smart classrooms with facility to attend the classes online for students who are sick and couldn't attend physical classes. The library is quite big and resourceful as well. It has an e-library facility which enables the students to access the library even when they are not in campus. Other things in the campus include moot court hall, computer lab, football, and basketball court. There is a cafeteria, a dairy stall as well as a Nescafe stall in the campus.

The campus life is quite here. The students live in harmony and the senior - junior relation is also light hearted. There are various clubs / committees like Moot Court Committee, Academic and Debating Committee, Centre for Child Rights, Legal Aid Cell, Cultural Committee, Centre For Law and Economics, and many more. The college has a flagship event, the national parliamentary debate and fests like VIDHIKTA and JIVATVA. The campus students are also engaged in sports and various sports competition like cricket, badminton, basketball, football, and volleyball that are conducted throughout the year.
