Excellent Coding Culture at NIT Hamirpur

Overall Rating
NIT Hamirpur is honestly a hidden gem in the beauty of Himalayas. The campus is super scenic and peaceful, which helps with focus and offers great vibes. The coding culture is strong especially in CSE and ECE batches, with active clubs and hackathons. Hostel Life is decent, and the crowd is mostly friendly and helpful. Placement stats are good, especially for CS department. If you're consistent and self motivated, you'll grow here. Highly recommended For UGs.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. Classes are held regularly; with teachers sharing notes most of the time. For our department, lab classes happen weekly. The syllabus is always covered on time and the exams here well planned. The teachers are helpful and they try their best to help students to clear basics properly. If you keep up with the classes, things would not come off as difficult. There are a few strict teachers but they are good too. Overall, learning environment at our Institute is great. You get the time to explore and enhance coding and other skills too.
ST category students at this Institute get full tuition fee waiver, with only hostel and mess charges applicable each semester.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty at this Institute is highly qualified; many hold Ph.Ds from top Institutions. They teach using blackboards, PPTs, and sometimes discussions. Problem-solving sessions are held regularly by them and help is provided as and when needed. The teacher-student ratio is good, ensuring personal attention. Most professors are approachable and supportive, especially in our department. Doubts are cleared after class or via email. My experience with faculty has been positive.
 

Placement Rating
Our Institute has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell that actively helps students prepare for jobs. It conducts mock interviews, aptitude tests, etc. to help students become confident with it. Resume-building sessions and company talks also take place. Average package is 9 LPA, while the highest package went up to 52 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
NIT Hamirpur offers separate hostels for boys and girls with good facilities. Rooms are mostly double-sharing and hostels have Wi-Fi, common rooms, TV, sports and 24X7 security.
 

Infrastructure Rating
This Institute has a beautiful hillside campus with well-planned academic blocks. Classrooms are spacious with projectors and good seating. Library is big and fully digital. Labs are well-equipped and seminar halls and auditoriums are modern. The campus has canteens, sports grounds, 24X7 medical center and good security. My favorite spot is central library. The peaceful vibe and strong lab facilities really support focused learning and practical knowledge in my course.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life at this Institute is balanced. The crowd is diverse and friendly. There are many active clubs like Coding, Dance, Music, Photography, etc. and I'm a part of the Tech club. The Institute hosts exciting events like Hill'ffair and Nimbus, full of fun and learning. Cultural nights and sports meets are regular too. Overall, the peaceful hills and the helpful people make campus life memorable.

    In terms of infrastructure and architecture, my college resides on the top portion of our country. NIT Hamirpur is situated on a hill top of district Hamirpur and surrounded by a forest with old classically built building. The second thing which I like most in my college is the helping nature of the seniors and facilities towards the juniors.     It’s my 2nd semester here and I am really enjoying here. It's was my dream to come and study here. The college life here is quite peaceful as it is situated a few kms away from the main road. The students here are very sharp minded and their friendly nature has made me to feel home here. There is every facility which you need in your daily life.
