My judgment or assessment of the university might help you take the call. I studied engineering here from 2012 to 2016. I came to this university because I got fewer marks in the entrance, and Manav Rachna University doesn’t even care what you have scored. The other reason was that it is located in my hometown Faridabad which has the worst transportation system. In the first year, I took the university bus that took almost 45 minutes from my home to reach there, while the distance could have been easily covered in 20 odd minutes. From the second year onwards, I started using my own vehicle and at least this problem was solved. The campus is beautiful and since the university has incepted so many facilities, they ask students to use them frequently. There are some concerns, but if you want to get a 25-30k job after doing engineering, Manav Rachna will ensure you have that. If you dream of lakhs, I am sorry but will get nothing but disappointment.

Try all that you can but don’t mess with your studies here. Lectures are stricter than IITs as people who miss them are said nothing but end up paying thousands in fines. Those who couldn’t bear had to waste a year. Once you attend classes, you will be treated as a class hero. The teachers will remember you through your name, and they will make sure to take care of you in internals. Don’t ask stupid questions in class. Let the brainstorm come from the nerd, and you can add your doubts to that. If you do as I have said, the university will look like a boon to you.

They were shy of taking a stand for or against the students. If some students had less attendance, they couldn’t do much but to report the attendance sheet to HOD. HOD then will decide on the fine, which kept on increasing every semester. The faculty were rather naïve as they would come, teach us, and solve the doubts if any. Give some favor to their favorites and go back smiling. Where on earth have you known the role assigned to you this clear. Well, at our university, it was that clear for our faculty.

If you ask any student from the second semester onwards, they will talk about anything but the placements. So, I guess placements had to be optimum. At Manav Rachna, though, getting placed students in numbers is more important than getting students placed in quality companies with quality jobs. The quality companies were there but only to take the quality students, just a handful. Lesser-known entities approached students like us and the kind of salary offered against the job we were offered was definitely not on fair terms. Placements are there for those who agree to work in petty, but those who want big will have to aim for higher studies as B. Tech can’t get you there be it from any private university in India.

There are four to five hostel buildings, and I didn’t stay there but I know they were good. I had few friends who often shared the stories on how they tress passed at night. How they ordered food and watchman himself delivered them the food. The outside food is strictly prohibited as there is a mess and students are advised to have food only from there. Well, all rule breakers existed at Manav Rachna University hostels as they broke all the rules set by the hostels at least once.

A 75-acre lush green campus which is located a little outside the city. The campus had everything from sporting facilities to education-related facilities like the labs, a research centre, a huge library and a dome that had an entrepreneurship cell. If you have some ideas, you are most welcome there as some students have received funding from there. In sports facilities, there were both, indoor and outdoor facilities. The university cafeteria was excellent but charged like we already had an IT job. Boss, we are still dependent on our parents and a plate of Chole Bhature cost 150. If the cafeteria were in the budget, I would have rated as one of the best cafeterias, but because it charged too premium, I don’t have many good things to say about that.

Life inside the campus was as happening as DU’s top colleges. DU students witnessed our annual fest RESURRECTION and even they said a fest of this magnitude doesn’t exist in their colleges. Apart from the annual fest, the campus was decorated every other week because there are over 10 departments at the university, and everyone would have their celebrations going on. So, campus life was like Indian festivals that we enjoyed from the heart.
