BIT Bangalore is an engineering college situated in the main city of Bangalore. It offers a variety of courses but I choose Computer Science Engineering. Although it is a private college, it takes admission from the COMEDK examination that happens every year for PCM holders. Although this exam is a state-level engineering exam, however, students outside the state can also participate. Besides this, you can also take admission in this exam with the help of other examinations such as JEE mains and KCET. However, for students residing in the state itself, the COMEDK exam is generally preferred for easy admissions and the admission fees is also lower in that scenario. Apart from this, you must be having your class 12 completed from a recognized board.

I have joined here B tech CSE, Being a computer engineer graduate has always been a dream, however, I couldn’t score well to secure any IITs therefore, I joined here as an engineering graduate to pursue my further studies. All the courses that are being taught here are very helpful in life and even in placements. Most of the companies that come here to our campus for placements are IT companies, however they allow other branches to sit in their placements, and mostly Computer science engineering graduates are fully capable to grab their jobs. Besides this, we spend the entire day in computer labs which is among the most memorable days of our entire college life.

The faculty staff members are college professors, lab assistants, college management, HODs, deans, etc. I would say I had enough interaction with everyone and that too in a good amount. This puts me in a position to answer the question that how is the college faculty members. I would say they all are pretty strict, however, helpful. I have seen professors here that will punish you a lot in the starting days, however, they will teach you in the latter days. This behavior of professors has been very important for college in maintaining discipline. A lot of students in the early phase of the first year seem to struggle to adapt to the college, but as the day passes the college management and the faculty members will be seen helping the students a lot.

It is a private college; therefore, you know what type of companies come here for engineering graduates recruitments. Most of the companies that come here are coming here for mass recruitment. That is most of the companies coming here are coming for sales and incentive-based job offers. I don’t mean to say that these placements are not good, but these placements are not preferred by me. However, if you have developed good coding and other technical skills you might land in a good company that is offering great CTC and amazing job life. When I was in my third year, one of the seniors grabbed a placement in Byjus is 22 LPA. He had exceptional skills as a coder and programmer. You will easily get a job here but you have to be cautious about what type of job you are interested.

I used to live on the outskirts of Bangalore; therefore I had decided that I will go for hostels. The hostels here are not very far from the college but outside the campus. The hotels are maintained separately for both boys and girls. It is a private hostel so all the facilities here are very well and above the expectations. You can share the room with 2-3 students and also you can equip your private room by paying higher. For the first and second years, I lived with a roommate and then I left the hostel as I was thinking to start my studio therefore, I left the hostel and rented an apartment with someone else near the college itself. The 2BHK apartment rents here are also feasible and not very high. However, the quality of the hostel is very nice, you get very tasty food daily and the timings of the mess is good, that is if you get late in reaching mess, you still get to have the food, which is among the most important feature I would like to see in any mess.

BIT Bangalore is a private college so you can expect something exceptional. Even in their advertisement banners and posters, you will be seeing a very beautiful infrastructure. As I have previously told you that we spent most of our time in college in our computer labs. The computer labs are air-conditioned, well maintained with comfortable chairs, a good quality desk, and many more. Besides this, there are other facilities such as all classrooms are smart lab equipped. There are large playgrounds where most of the college fests, college sports events, and other college events take place. There is one very big library where you might find most of the books; however, I didn’t take much help from the library as I used to get all the materials online.

Campus life here is good. You get to experience the weather and lifestyle of Bangalore city at its core. During holidays we use to take trips around the city, beaches, malls, and other famous places. However, during normal regular days, we used to hang out in campus canteens. Campus canteens were our regular place to hang out. Apart from this, we had a lot of fun with our seniors and then in later months with our juniors also. I had the best college life in BIT Bangalore.
