R.V. College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Vedant Murarka

What made me choose this particular college was that according to me it is the topmost private engineering college in India in terms of placements. The second reason to choose this college was the location of the place which is Bangalore.

Basically, it's a four-year course like any other B.Tech or B.E degree. The academics of this college is somewhat similar to other colleges. The eligibility criteria are to either get sufficient rank through KCET or COMEDK. Another option is to get admission through Management Quota but the fee for management quota students is too high. (60, 00,000 for 4 years of CSE course).

The faculty is mostly good, and the teachers are extremely nice and friendly. They are good as long as you don't cross a limit. There are all kinds of faculty, but everyone is mostly friendly and knowledgeable with a few exceptions of course.

Yes, our college does have a Placement Cell and a really good one, is what I believe. Many offers from top companies can be seen and average packages are also good. Not all the students get placed so there is a tough competition among students.

Yes, they provide hostels on campus but speaking from a North Indian side of view, it is not up to the mark. The food is average and a lot of times you get rice in meals. Most of the area of the hostel is under construction and they don't let you enter other buildings. Hostels have common bathrooms and are in triple sharing.

The college is under construction, so the computer science building is not accessible whereas the mechanical building is being constructed. The electronic and communication department is well-maintained since it was recently renovated. The Aerospace department has many machines which you can't find in other colleges. Other blocks are fine, but the classrooms are not that big.

The overall campus life is hectic since we have long days, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Saturdays are reserved for quizzes or if any teacher wants to take extra classes or for a project-based topic called Experiential Learning. The crowd you will mostly find is from Karnataka but it's not a problem since most of them understand Hindi and English. There are many clubs including technical and cultural. The clubs are good and provide a way to enjoy and learn in college. There is only one major fest that I know of which is ‘8th Mile’ and it happens once in every two years. The club occasionally hosts events like Treasure Hunt, Marathon, etc.
