Great infrastructure but poor management at Chandigarh University

The slogan of Chandigarh University is "Discover, Learn, Empowerment". To be honest, while you pursue your degree, this College does make you DISCOVER about new things, LEARN about not only studies but some of the most important life lessons as well and EMPOWER your personality and mind as a capable human being. Being founded in 2012 itself, till the date 'Chandigarh University' stands among Top 10 private Universities in India. Not only this, but Chandigarh University has alliances with other foreign Universities including US, Australia, Canada, etc. There are many good things about the University and so do a few bad things. Let's get to know more about it.
Chandigarh University Admission are done on 12th marks as there is no entrance exam. You should have 50% marks in your (10+2) or any stream equal to it. BCA is a course where you have to gain knowledge from all directions. You cannot stay dependent on books. Teachers will take lectures, but they'll only read slides and what's written in books. Self-study should be your main goal. It's not necessary that you'll understand every topic by yourself; you can ask doubts to your teachers, but it's less guaranteed that they'll take it seriously and solve them.
All faculties at Chandigarh University have master's degrees and only a few of them are PhD holders. The College is huge with a bunch of departments and numbers of teachers, but very few of them teach well. In a 45 minute lecture, a student will sit with an expectation of gaining some points about his syllabus that he cannot understand from books. But teachers themselves read books and PowerPoint presentations with meaningless explanations. The faculties need to improve this method of teaching. No doubt they'll help you if you go to them with difficulties, but teachers should also be more aware in class.
Chandigarh University Placement cell is very active with knowledgeable and expert training teachers. Students are trained in many ways for their placement interviews. But in reality, very few students get good placement. The package received by students is average and not even satisfactory. The number of students setting up a place has been increasing in recent years. Last I heard, the average offered was 8-LPA. Hope more students will be getting placements in future. As for me, I opted for higher studies so didn't apply for placements as Chandigarh University BCA Placement were not paid well.
I stayed in a hostel during my degree. I went for a normal room which cost around 75 thousand because the air-conditioned rooms were demanding fees in lakhs. I had also joined a hostel mess which had average food quality. Being a non-vegetarian, I never craved non-veg because the non-veg food at the mess tasted very bland. The hostel food taste differs from hostel to hostel. The girls and boys hostel are separate. There are strict curfew timings for girls' hostel and even for boys' hostel. You have to ask for permission from the warden and even from your guardian if you want to go out for one night.
With a total area of about 160+ acres, Chandigarh University has spread enormously. From many playgrounds to unnumbered food courts, the College provides every facility you can name. The whole campus is covered in greenery and not that there are people who keep it well maintained. North and South Campus are the two parts of campus. I even lost the count of departments Chandigarh University has because the process of adding new departments to the campus was going on. The College provides many UG/PG courses. There are cafeterias on campus where the food is expensive and out of the reach of middle-class students. Many spots are located on campus where you can hang out with your friends or chill.
Chandigarh University is famous for its Infrastructure. Huge campus with more than 200 courses in different streams. Chandigarh University is usually known for the courses it offers in the engineering and management sector. The only dark side about the University is its management. Some people in the management have damaged the name of the whole system at University. The campus has lots of greenery and is well maintained. Every student takes part in keeping the campus clean. The faculties are strict about rules and attendance for students and if the rules are broken, the respected person is punished.
I had to take a drop for a year because Chandigarh University doesn’t give admissions to anyone but one has to have good scores at CUCET or other entrance scores that the university accepts. It doesn’t get over here as there as a GD & PI round too and only after that student are awarded admissions. CU is a place where there is buzz but not violence for sure. Students are seen chirping all day long and even though we had some on and off time as the first semester exams happened online and end... Read Full Review

Chandigarh University got established in 2012 and is in Gharuan/ Kharar and not in Chandigarh as a lot of people tend to get confused about the university location. It is NAAC approved. It is a global university, which further means, we have students from around the globe. Every course is available, name it, you will find it at our university. In such a short span of time, the university is in the top 10 private universities, and let us be a little honest, the two departments, engineering and MB... Read Full Review
Chandigarh is among the most famous in India, also because of the reason that Chandigarh city is the capital of two states that are Punjab and Haryana. However, Chandigarh University was established by the Punjab State Legislature. It is a very big University that offers various courses. And the best part is, it offers almost all the professional degree courses. It has private Colleges, so the admission process is not very tedious. You have to have your documents. The admission process is 2-3 da... Read Full Review
I would say that one can easily look at CU as one of the best Universities for MBA, at least in Punjab. The pedigree may not be that old in such a short span; they have crafted a niche in many courses, and MBA is without an iota of doubt, the leader of the pack. CUCET is one way to get here, but they also accept CAT, MAT, and XAT scores. One can apply directly as well through management quota, but the fees for such students increase as they are not considered among the selected students. The Uni... Read Full Review
CU has started ‘CUCET’ entrance for admissions to MBA. The seats are still low, and only the top-ranked students at the entrance get admission. There are admissions through donations and caption fees, but the percentage of such students is very low. Even though the University has started and is expanding every year by adding new courses, the University is an established one in such a short span. I could have chosen LPU as BBA students from there were given direct admissions but wanted to enj... Read Full Review
