Overall, IISc is an excellent institute. I can feel a change in myself within a couple of days I was given admission to this institute. The peer groups here are just an excellent blend of fun, charm, dedication and ambition. I learn a lot from them. Here, I have realised that I have a lot to learn about my subject of interest and fulfill my pursuit of satisfying my curiosity. The person with a motive to learn a specific subject in depth should consider admission to this institute and that is why I made my mind to join here.

I joined here recently and have a little academic experience. But it is the nicest of the academic experiences I had till now. The course is structured so well. They don't schedule classes without breaks. I mean we do have an hour of break in between. The quizzes in between the exams keep us up to date with the ongoing coursework. Modes of entry: JEE mains, JEE Advanced, IISER aptitude test and NEET.

Of course faculties of such a premier institution would be top notch. They have done Ph.Ds in their respective fields from reputed institutions from abroad. Like I was amazed to know that math and computer related departments have Caltech alumnus as faculty members. Most of them have academic profiles decorated with multiple international accolades. Sometimes they go beyond the syllabus making the class way more interesting and deeper. Sometimes we get confused as well but this is universal. It happens everywhere. They are easily approachable and that is actually what we need. An approachable instructor would be a blessing for researchers.

Yes. We do have a Placement Cell. Our highest package was 83 LPA, and the average package stands out among other institutions with a whopping 27 LPA but most of the undergraduate students here are more interested in further studies abroad and pursue that. If at some point your situation demands a job earlier, you can of course sit in the placement and have your desirable job.

We have very nice accommodation. The hostels are regularly cleaned and maintained. Hostel life is just as awesome. There are things that I cannot share but we do really fun things here. This does not mean that we do not respect privacy and consent. People here are really sensitive about this thing. Ragging is zero here. We do have really friendly conversations with some of our seniors. Mostly we do not have much interaction with our seniors. They are too busy with their studies.

The infrastructure of course is very ecofriendly and advanced. I know that these are the things that are very hard to achieve together but I can proudly say that IISc has achieved this. Half the campus is forest and also the buildings are well equipped with the modern technology to support the research and ease it.

The campus is not very crowded. If you are a natural lover, you must consider this green institute. I love the walks I take on nights. The temperature always stays 1 degree less than the rest of Bangalore. There are different clubs to join according to your interest. Rhapsody and Pravega are the two mega fests organized in IISc. The colorful life comes to the scene at the time of fests.
