IISc Bangalore campus covers over 440 acres of land area with lush green surroundings and has traditional infrastructure with modern amenities. Numerous educational & administrative buildings, residential blocks, health facilities, sports areas, etc. are built across the premises of the Deemed-to-be-University to enhance the overall campus experience of the students.

At IISc Bangalore, students get access to a wide range of amenities such as smart & spacious classrooms, libraries, high-tech labs, sports grounds & courts, boys’ & girls’ hostels, recreational areas, eateries, banking services, and many other facilities.

IISc Bangalore has built the academic facilities as per the modern teaching-learning environment so that students can learn as per the ongoing demands of the education & corporate sector. The lecture halls and classrooms at the University have LCD projectors, large screen, wireless audio systems & other teaching tools.

The University has set up a ‘National Science Seminar Complex (NSSC)’ with numerous seminar halls with requisite audio-visual amenities and they are used to host presentations, interviews, formal meetings, etc. Other than this, conference rooms, VC rooms, and auditoriums (located in NSSC) are also present at the campus.

• Library: The Deemed University has set up a ‘J.R.D. Tata Memorial Library (JRDTML)’ also known as ‘Indian Institute of Science Library’ at the campus that covers more than 54,000 square feet of land area.
  Online resources and databases can be accessed via the digital library. The library also has few services like photocopy, reference, document delivery, etc. for the students. Separate libraries are also present in the academic departments so that students can access the course-specific academic materials to expand their knowledge.
  Students get a wide collection of learning materials and few of them are as follows:
  • Books: 1,98,213+
  • Thesis & Grants: 29,986+
  • E-journals: 14,000+
  • E-books: 13,000+
• Laboratories: There is a ‘Supercomputing Education & Research Centre (SERC)’ at the campus under which multiple computing labs with high configuration PCs and other devices are available. Along with this, labs are present within the Department of Physics, Electronic Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and others with required equipment & machines.
  Some of the labs that are set up by the University are IISc Sustainable Transportation lab (IST lab), Power Electronics lab, Quantum Transport lab, Network Science lab, and NeuRonICS lab.
• Sports: A wide range of sports amenities with ample space is present inside the gymkhana of the IISc Bangalore campus. An Indoor Badminton Court, Table Tennis, Billiards, Karate, Carrom, and many other indoor games are available in the campus. Other than this, the University has facilities for outdoor games as well that includes Cricket Grounds, Basketball Courts, Football Ground, Tennis Court, Cinder Track, etc.
  To ensure that students grow holistically, the University conducts sports meets and also encourages them to participate in different games.
• Hostel: Numerous hostels are located in the premises of the University including ‘Aryabhatta Boys Hostel’, ‘Tunga Girls Hostel’, ‘Mrigasira Boys Hostel’, and others and 3000+ students can reside in these accommodations. Male and female students can opt for the on-campus IISc Bangalore Hostel facilities, get furnished rooms on a sharing basis, around 4 messes (vegetarian and & non-vegetarian food), pharmacy, bakery, and other such amenities.
• Cafeteria: In the premises of the University, a multitude of canteens and restaurants including ‘Vayuvihar Canteen’, ‘Nesara Restaurant’, ‘Kabini Canteen’, ‘Sarvam Canteen’ and few others are present with adequate seating space. Students can fulfill their dietary needs by having the food & beverages at these places.
• Transport: Adequate transport services like e-rickshaws & others are there for the students so that they can travel from one location to another in the University’s campus.
• Healthcare Facilities: A Health Centre is present at the campus with OPD, ECG services, labs, X-ray, physiotherapy, and ambulance facility. A Chief Medical Officer (CMO) along with other doctors & other nursing staff are available to ensure that students get prompt medical treatment.
• Gymnasium: Students can avail the gym facility at the campus that requires training equipment and trainers to provide guidance.
• Banking: In order to fulfill the banking & cash related needs of the students, the University has set up operational branches of ‘SBI Bank’ and ‘Canara Bank’ along with their respective ATMs.

A number of clubs are set up by the University for academic & extra-curricular activities purposes for the students so that they can improve their communication skills, boost confidence level, etc. Different committees are there at the University to resolve the issues related to the academics, administrative, security, ragging, and others.
