A centralised cell known as ‘Office of Career Counselling & Placement (OCCaP)’ is there which every year conducts the IISc Bangalore placement drives and students can take part in the same to obtain their desired job roles with high salary packages at eminent firms.

In 2025, 65 LPA is the IISc Bangalore highest package received by the students and 28 LPA is the average salary package. During the same, companies like Amazon, Google, Flipkart, Samsung, etc. participated in the recruitment process and facilitated students with over 480 job offers.

The structured IISc Bangalore placement process is stated below:

• Step 1: Interested students will have to fill-in & submit the pre-registration form of OCCaP which is made available probably in July.
• Step 2: Followed by this, a unique account will be created on the placement portal of all the registered students and then they should update all the academic & personal details on the same.
• Step 3: Afterwards, OCCaP will verify the details filled by the students and then will be provided with access to numerous placement opportunities.
• Step 4: Now, through the OCCaP portal, students can know about various job roles, deadlines details, announcements of multiple companies, etc. and they can register for their preferred company.
• Step 5: Followed by this, Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs) & industry interaction days are conducted so that students can gain additional details about the profiles of various organisations and their requirements.
• Step 6: After these sessions, the dedicated cell invites around 12 to 30 prominent companies for placement drives in each slot and the results of the same will be announced after the conclusion of every slot.
• Step 7: Once the slot system is over, the organisations will be invited on a rolling basis and shortlisted students will be excluded from the further campus hiring procedure.
• Step 8: Now, students who are already selected by a company can still appear for the interview session of their ‘dream company’ during the same slot.
• Step 9: Lastly, as per the final selection, offer letters will be provided to the students.
