Zakir Husain College B.Com Review By Piyush Maurya

Overall, Zakir Husain College is a good college. It has good academic settings including modern technology, experienced faculty, and equipped laboratories. It also has many amenities in the college like hospital, cafeteria, library, and many others. My Experience until now is average to above average.

First, I gave board and scored 90.02% and with a good score, I wanted to choose B. Com (Hons.). I gave the CUET and was selected into this college. The overall course is good and knowledgeable. It is also the most selected course from commerce background students. I wish to improve the quality of teaching for particular subjects. The cut off varies for the colleges. for general category, it is mainly 700+ and for reservation quota, it's 600+ for B. Com (Hons.). The yearly fee is 14850 INR, in which examination fee is 1510 INR. The transportation costs also vary like for me it costs 140 INR per day and I've to travel 1 hours+ to reach the college. The scholarships are available for reservation quota and for students whose family income is less than 8 Lakh but it's mainly for the student of second year.

The faculty members are good and helping depending upon the course and subject. The faculty members are well qualified and knowledgeable and some of them treat us like their own children. The professors have advanced degrees in their fields and the teaching quality is also good with interactive student engagement. The exams vary from moderate to high and the passing percentage is about 30 %. The exams take place mainly at the end of the semester.

Placements are good in Zakir Husain College and many of the students got placements with a good salary package. If you score good marks, the college offers a good package of salary. the percentage to get internship is only 20% (depending on the course accordingly). There's a placement cell that brings suitable opportunities for all courses and sometimes-specific subject internships are available. However, the stipends offered by those companies are sometimes too low and some are unpaid.

The college's library is fully air-conditioned and has so many books with lots of authors displayed with rich collections. It has lots of well-equipped labs and computers connected with college Wi-Fi. The cafeteria food is okay. It has hospital/medical facilities too. There's no hostel and it's a negative point for people who have to travel more distance away from home. It would be better if it constructs some accommodation for students and even faculty members.

The overall experience of campus life is quite good. The campus crowd is good too. There are official and unofficial groups for everyone. The official ones help the students to interact with teachers and know about important discussions and topics. The unofficial ones are for the students to interact with each other. Thus, the student engagement is possible through this. The fests are not up to the mark.
