NIT Raipur whose NIRF Ranking is 71 in 2024, is a good institute in terms of faculty here. The Campus is quite small in comparison to other NIT's. I secured a rank of around 40,000 in JEE Main and opted for bachelor's in technology in Mechanical Branch as I have keen interest in the same. Currently, I'm a sophomore here and as far as my experience is concerned till now. It's a good institute in many terms like academics and sports. Many Alumni of NITRR secured single digit rank in GATE Exams which clearly tells if a student is dedicated enough. Here students learn to manage hectic schedules along with difficulties and challenges in hostels or flats. Overall development of students is the key aspect to keep in mind and as far as placement is concerned, a student will get a package as per their talent, knowledge and communication skills and NITRR provides sufficient opportunities for students to explore their talent and skills they can master.

As far as academics are concerned, NITRR follows the CBCS scheme, and the marking is based on overall performance of the student. A student's attendance, assignment work completion, theory and practical exam performance all decide the final result of students in each semester. To get enrolled in NITRR, a 12th passed student has to clear JEE Main exam cutoff for this institute varies on yearly basis. Mechanical Engineering here has a vast syllabus, and students are introduced to a variety of subjects each of which stand alone in terms of major concepts, some topics are interlinked but students get to face how practical life is and how machines operate.

This is the most precious and most important aspect of NIT Raipur. The faculty here has very experienced professors, their knowledge is very vast. Our motive is to get at least 10% of their knowledge and wisdom. Many Professors are highly qualified. Their way of teaching is very nice, and they spend sufficient time teaching concepts, so the students understand it very well and give practical life examples so that students shall not feel bored during lectures. Getting taught by them is really a blessing.

There are hostel facilities for girls and boys. There is a separate Gym for girls and boys.

As far as infrastructure is concerned, NIT Raipur has very old buildings since earlier it was G.E.C, the labs of core branches have huge, outdated machines which have comparatively large size and simple mechanisms which are essential to build the foundation of how things actually work, this is my observation. Separate departments are there in the academic block with canteen, snacks stalls nearby the main building. Also, the infrastructure has a medical shop, A.T.M, Sports complex, many playgrounds like football field, cricket ground, badminton ground, basketball ground, etc.

As far as campus life is concerned, NITRR organises some of the very good events like Samar (sports event) and Eklektika (cultural festival) which are outstanding. Along with it, different clubs organise many interesting 1–3-day events which are worth attending. Many knowledge speaker sessions and panel sessions are also held throughout the year which covers different important aspects regarding different fields. Through these types of sessions students get clarity about what specific field they should pursue and how they can develop a rich, successful mindset.
