JU is one of the premier Universities in India. It has the lowest 4 years of B.E fees i.e. 10k/-. It has a great alumni network, no compulsory attendance policy, a beautiful campus life, and a decent gender ratio, which is better than IIT’s. On the other hand, it has some drawbacks too that involves average infrastructure, corruption in Ph.D admission, and antinational active organizations that often degrade the image of the University.

To get into Jadavpur University, one must have given the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. The eligibility criteria is that one must complete his/her 12th board examination and secure at least 65% in Mathematics. There is approximately 90% reservation for Bengal Students and the closing UR ranks for all India candidates i.e. 2.5k and for the domicile candidates i.e. 5.5k. The main plus point of this college is its fees. It is one of the core reasons why students preferred enrolling here than an IIT. The academics of this University are very up-to-date. The chemical engineering department of JU is the oldest in Asia. There are regular class tests for every subject before the semester exam.

The Professors are highly qualified and some of them have studied in JU. Many professors did their post-graduation in some top Universities. Their teaching skills are really good but some of them are average at teaching. Every professor has a unique way of teaching and they always appreciate innovations. Rest of the staffs is also helpful.

Yes, we do have a great placement cell at our Institute. The placement cell works day and night to bring one of the best MNC’s. most of our alumni are placed at top MNC’s. Every year the highest CTC crosses 1cr and almost 100% students get placed.

Yes, we have residential facilities in our University but it's not for all. First, they will consider the distance between one's home to the University after that they will notice the economic background of the student after which if any hostel room gets vacant then through an application one can get his/her hostel room. The hostel rooms are decent, having a badminton court, volleyball ground, Gym, and TT table. The hostels are fulfilling students demands but somewhere the hostel needs renovation.

In this section our University has a few drawbacks. Our University has all the necessary equipment as well as libraries, separate department buildings, and many seminar halls but being a Tier 1 University it gives competition to all top IIT’s. The infrastructure isn't that good. It needs some renovation as well as some new additions. But there are some beautiful structures in our University like World View, and OAT which looks amazing and gives a vintage vibe.

Campus life is one of the highlights of JU, students get all freedom on the campus. It has 2 campuses, one is in Jadavpur and 2nd is in Salt Lake. Both campuses have all the facilities while the Salt Lake campus has a Large well-maintained cricket ground. On the other hand, the Jadavpur campus holds the OAT. There are numerous clubs from E-cell to Mechatronics to IEEE. Our University organizes 2 main fests, SRIJAN, the technical fest, and SANSKRITI which is the cultural fest. SANSKRITI is a 9-day running fest which makes it more special. Another interesting thing about JU is that there are 2 more streams, SCIENCE and ARTS that make JU more diverse.
