'RCOE' may not show up in stats as one of the Top Engineering Colleges, but ask the people of Uttarakhand and they will have their views. RCOE is one of the best Engineering Colleges in the state as placement-wise, they have done exceptionally well. RCOE with 75%+ placement records for our branch and getting the course done well before time shows the impact that the College has. At this point, the two impact Engineering Colleges of Uttarakhand barring IIT Roorkee are 'GB Pant Nagar University' and 'RCOE'. If the College becomes a little bit more consistent with placements and academics, it will show up in the stats. The University has invited a lot of guests and they keep inviting as getting to hear from the experts is perhaps the best learning that students can get during their College life. The College understands that and that's the reason the College auditorium is seen busy half the year. So as a whole RCOE gives the consistency that a Top College is used to providing.
With the touching shoulders of some of the best faculties, academics just got better. So, the magic of academics was quite evident at RCOE. The College has shown massive signs of improvement in the four years that I studied there as every year the education got tougher and tougher but that is how the academic culture in Top Universities prevails. Academics at RCOE have just picked students to post right at the end because carrying ATKTs for long means the end of the road for students. It's not that students can complete their engineering in 6-7 years. One-year extension is what is allowed, and all the subjects that a student has failed to clear have to clear them in the extension year.
Faculties pushed us out of our comfort zones but seemed a little out of their depth in the final year. The faculties set-up and all is fantastic at RCOE and at RCOE there aren't many faculties, so the ratio of students to teachers can be less, but what mattered was their impact on us. This is the reason at the end they hardly had anything left in them but after taking us to the moon in the first three years, it was up to us to give them some rest as for two months we had to go through placement training program and then the placement scene, so in the final year, we hardly received any help from them but otherwise, their role in the College was at the pinnacle.
Placements again are a little but inconsistent because percentage-wise the number of students who got placed is fine, but in terms of number game, the College has lacked consistency. Many students were offered training jobs from companies like Microsoft, and BYJU's, and in the numbers, it might show that those students were placed through campus but many of the students who took that training job were fired. The College has been notified about that and the College I hope will be working in arranging quality placement for students because the kind of studies and knowledge that we are provided in the College had to be transformed in the jobs that we were provided.
Hostels of RCOE are great as even in hostels a merit list is out because the capacity is less and the students demand for hostels have kept on increasing. The College is an Engineering College for its namesake because there are many courses that RCOE offers and the number of students in the College are at sky-high as of now. For those who have got, the hostels have enjoyed their hostel life to the core because good rooms, good facilities and most importantly, good food is provided by the hostel mess.
The campus is huge as nearly 15 departmental buildings are easily accommodated in the RCOE campus. All the buildings have been given a unique name and are well maintained. The washrooms, the RO water facility, water coolers, and floors are all up-to-date at the campus. The campus has two auditoriums and several libraries that includes a central library, which is quite big and has a reading hall that can accommodate around 300 students at a time. The College has nice sporting facilities too, and students can have some fun too, at the fun zone of the campus.
In campus life, we keep talking about the atmosphere, the temperament, the kind of attitude that the management has towards the students. Well, luckily one hardly has to bother about any of these things at RCOE as all the above-mentioned things are sorted here. One change, if I may say, is that these days many Universities have made uniform compulsory, and that rule should change. In the larger interest of the College, it may look correct; but ask the students, and the majority of them will be against it.

'RCOE' is quite an impressive College. For students who are from Roorkee, there are two of the best Engineering Colleges present. IIT Roorkee is of course the most sought after and after that it's RCOE. Both the Colleges are similar in a lot of ways as the education pattern, the semester exam timings, and more or less the syllabus are entirely the same. We were taught from the leaf taken out of their syllabus as RCOE management left no stone unturned in making sure that students here get as much... Read Full Review
Engineering is a floating course as in the 1st year, we have to study everything and then come to our specialized course. The first year was huge fun and then the disappointing part as we had to part ways with a lot of our friends. Well, the College though, goes on as College is not about old friends as you get another hand soon after one flies. However, there was someone who never left our hands and they were the faculties of RCE. RCE College Roorkee on the whole gave us flexibility of studying... Read Full Review
The biggest force of RCOE is education as for four years in a row we had a little extra from the previous years. Student intake has increased in a few years and therefore placements have become challenging here, but RCOE is on track for it. We all need a good luck charm every now and then, don't we, and RCOE was that good luck charm for me. As a student, things got working for us as we left the College on the back of some quality education that has helped immensely during PG course. If the wave ... Read Full Review
Roorkee College of Engineering doesn't provide engineering courses, but many other courses too. I did a BBA from there in the 2014-17 batch and while all the facilities remain the same, placements dip a lot. RCOE has a dress code and it has to be followed because barring Saturday, we are not allowed to wear a civil uniform. The College admission process for BBA is simple as one becomes eligible if they have scored 50% or more in their 12th exams. No entrance for BBA and still the intake is low a... Read Full Review
If you want a future in engineering, then RCE is the one. Many engineering students do MBA post-engineering, but RCE was the College that always taught us the value of engineers. The masters in engineering can do a hell lot as CSE has become one of the most preferred courses in the last 10 years or so. In CSE too, there are many sub-branches, and therefore our batch of 1200 was divided into 18 sections. At RCE, we always had to move up because the education for which we joined the College was al...
