I gave many exams such as JEE, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, VITEEE, etc. I got decent scores in them but none of them could get me CSE in a tier 1 institute. Currently I am in my 3rd semester. Until now, my overall experience has been great with the institute. The campus is only 16 acres but it is beautiful and infrastructure is great. The main reason of choosing Ramaiah Institute of Technology was great placement opportunities and Bangalore city.

There are three ways of entering this institute: COMEDK, KCET, and Management Quota. The Syllabus of COMEDK and KCET is Physics, Chemistry, and Math of class 11th and 12th. There were no interview rounds. You just have to get a good rank in COMEDK/KCET then you can directly come for document verification after being allotted a seat through counseling rounds. The cutoff is different for each branch. My rank in COMEDK was 1641, which got me CSE (AI-ML) in this institute.

The faculties are great as most of them are PhD holders. They are 10+ years of experience. They are supportive and good in nature. There is a 1:12 faculty to student ratio. Some of them have studied from foreign universities. They focus more on practical knowledge rather than just teaching from textbooks. They conduct regular labs for implementation of knowledge practical of the topics they are teaching.

There are many placement opportunities in this institute. The overall average package of is 9 Lakh per Annum. The average of my branch (CSE AI ML) is 15 Lakh per Annum (this year). This highest package for this year was 55 Lakh per Annum. The overall placement percentage is also decent. If you have a CGPA of 7.5 and above, then you are eligible for most of the companies.

Hostels of Ramaiah Institute of Technology are well designed and spacious. For fresher's, there is a hostel named ‘Fresher’s Block’, which is inside the institute. It has decent rooms, and the only option is double sharing room. The fee for this hostel is Rs. 93000 per year. For 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year, there are many options like Aryabhatta Block, Ratan Tata Block, PG Block, MSR Gokulam, etc. Best of them being Ratan Tata Block where I live. There is almost every basic facility like laundry, common rooms, study room, playroom, etc. The fee for this hostel is around Rs. 120000 for 2 sharing and Rs. 170000 for single room.

The campus is only of 16 acres, but the infrastructure is modern and beautiful. There is a basketball court, badminton court, tennis court and a big ground for all other sports. The medical campus is 25 acres in size and it is very beautiful. The classrooms are well equipped with projectors and smart boards. The libraries are also great with nice ambience and many books. There is a gym inside the campus, which has all the basic equipment one needs.

The overall campus life is decent. As the campus size is small, there is not much to roam around. But there are a lot of clubs and activities, which keep students engaged and entertained. There are three main fests in the institute: Techfest, ‘Udbhav’, and ‘KR Fest’. They are also decent when it comes to enjoyment. The crowd is also great with talented people and sharp minds. The only con I feel is that there are many management quota students. So the overall campus life is above average.
