My Honest Review About NITK, Surathkal

Overall Rating
My experience at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is great. There are a lot of things to do in this institute. Other than academic work it provides lots of other opportunities and activities for the student such as sports, singing and many other things. As we also know that NITK comes under top 20 institutes in India, which makes it the Institute of National Importance. The academic level and the placement are so good here which makes me and also others to join the institute. It provides great placements as well as great academic experience to the students.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and I am a student of 2024 batch. After cracking my JEE MAINS I got selected in the institute. It’s a four year course which includes a total of 8 semesters and to get selected in this institute you must crack JEE Mains exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) with a good percentile for selection in the institute. I have chosen B.Tech in Chemical Engineering because it offers me a lot of scope for working in chemical related fields such as in industry level. Also, I love chemistry and its phenomena.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty staff as well as professors is all excellent. They are highly qualified in their field and provide excellent education to the students. They are very friendly to each student. They help their students in all situations whether it is academic or it is related to personal life. Their style of teaching is very classic as they provide excellent teaching experience with real life examples and demonstrations.
 

Placement Rating
It provided a very good placement in 2023; about 93% students in my department got placed and got their desired job with desired salary. In 2023 average placement for Chemical Engineering was 15 LPA offered, lowest salary offered was 4.50 LPA, and the highest salary offered was 54 LPA which is very good compared to any other colleges in India in the field of Chemical Engineering. That why I choose to go to NITK for my career.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel infrastructure is good. There are lots of facilities in my hostel. It has swimming pool for swimming, it also has tennis court, football ground, basketball court, and many others grounds and courts for different sports. In each hostel there is 15ft/4m room with two beds and two study tables for two students. There is a separate toilet in each room. There are 6 boy’s hostel and 3 girl’s hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of my institute is excellent. It provide swimming pool for swimming. It also has tennis court for playing tennis, football ground, basketball court, and many others grounds and courts for different sports. The institute has its own sea beach for students to relax and to get some relaxing time with friends. The academic building is great in infrastructure and it has many useful and costly machines to teach students. The institute also has canteen for the students that offer good food at good rates.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life in my institute is next level and excellent. As of 2024 there are 5006 students who currently study in my institute with their specific field and out if that 74 are from my class. There are lots of clubs in National Institute of Technology Karnataka to join and get some knowledge. A lot of fests are also organised in the institute, the famous one is Incident which is the annual fest that is held every year. A lot of other engagement activities are also held in NITK.

    I am currently a 2nd year student in B.Tech EEE branch at NITK. So coming into this institute was never decided. The story begins with a student preparing for IIT did well in MAINS have CRL 7384 but then bored and messed up in ADVANCE and ends up with a bad rank. From the ADVANCE rank I was not able to get to a good IIT so decide going for NIT instead.     NITK is the second ranked NIT after NIT Trichy. Its teachers, alumni and students make it a college worth studying in. It is located alongside the calm coastal Surathkal beach with Arabian Sea increasing its beauty. If you get any branch in NITK, it is worth preferring it over other tier 2 NITs.... Read Full Review

  • My dream college - NITK

    I am studying at Nation Institute of Technology, Surathkal, Karnataka. As I am here for 2 months, I am experiencing a very good culture, nature, and infrastructure here. Students come here from all over the India as this college is one of top 5 NITs. I chose this particular college because of its environment and all other things like faculties and all.
