'Raj Soin Hall' at DTU New Delhi can Accommodate around 3000 Students

Delhi Technological University (DTU) is a top-level engineering university in India. It is known for its academic excellence, campus, and extracurricular activities. My experience has been wonderful, filled with opportunities for growth, exposure and many memories. It shapes you personally and professionally. Being located in Delhi, it gives exposure to numerous events, internships, and cultural environment. Academically, it offers programs designed for both knowledge and advanced skills. Curriculum is regularly updated every year according to growing technological needs and domains. Campus life in itself is very good. Every corner of this university has something unique to offer. For everyone who is considering this university as their option, I would definitely recommend this university for both academic and personality development along with good environment, campus life and other opportunities.

I am currently pursuing B.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering). This is the top branch in this university. Admission to this university is via Joint Admission Counseling (JAC) Delhi based on JEE Mains Rank. Candidates must have completed 10+2 education in PCM as core subjects. There are several other branches as well which also focus on core domains. Computer science and engineering department is all about covers various software related subjects like object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Database Management, etc. The curriculum is aligned with the growing technology and involved Machine learning and web development. We can opt for elective subjects as well to gain more knowledge. Practical learning is focus and so we have labs and files. Motive for enrolling in CSE program is because of its amazing reputation and strong focus on research and innovation. The environment is challenging and competing but at the same time one reason of why students here excel and develop all sort of skills to grab a good placement by the end of 4th year.

Faculty comprises of professors and PhD scholars. Many faculty members hold advanced degrees from prestigious institutions in India and abroad. In Computer Science and Engineering, professors and well emerged with tech stacks like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Structures, and Algorithms, Block Chain, Cyber Security etc. They try to build theoritical and practical concepts both. They often try to explain topics using real world applications, which makes it very easy to understand. Many professors use projectors and many teach on the white board. They give regular assignments and conduct regular tests to strengthen the concepts. In addition to classroom learning, they also mentor us for research projects, hackathons, and competitive coding for placements. Workshops and guest lecturers conducted by industry experts and alumni further help a lot.

DTU New Delhi has a placement cell and an entire building dedicated to the Training and Placement Cell. Every year, multiple companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. come for hiring students for internships and placements. The placement cell organizes regular workshops, mock interviews and resume building sessions to help the students grab an offer. T&P cell maintains strong connections with leading companies across the IT sector, core, consulting, and startups.

The university multiple hostels. There are multiple boy’s hostels and 3 girl’s hostels. 2 are Non-AC and 1 is AC with capacity of around 220 rooms in each. We have night canteens, microwave, washing machines, inductions, fridge, and all the possible facilities in the hostel. We have a mini GYM inside the hostel and a gym dedicated to only girls behind the hostels. Mess food is good with 4 meals of a day, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. The menu is vast covering north Indian to south India and all kind of food. We also have study rooms and activity rooms having pool table and table tennis. We have an inbuilt vending machine for food, which works 24/7. The rooms in the AC hostel are triple sharing and spacious enough with cupboards, desks, bed and mattress. Electricity and water facility are 24/7 available.

Academic blocks are well maintained with separate buildings for each branch. Lecture halls are quite big and equipped with technologies like projectors and AC. Central library has loads of books of each kind along with quit and focused study zones. We have multiple labs to study subjects practically along with equipped resources. We have BR Audi and Raj Soin Hall (where 3000 students can be seated) for multiple cultural events and orientations. Campus comprises of Open-air theatre, which is the place where everyone chills after a hectic day. Our sports complex is very large and has all the possible sport facilities one can think of such as cricket, football, basketball, indoor and outdoor badminton courts, volleyball court etc. There are multiple food joints including Dominos, Bistro 57 etc., and large grounds for concerts and big events. Overall, it is a vast campus with multiple facilities and beautiful campus.

Life here just goes beyond academics. You will find multiple societies, tech, non-tech, core, and multiple other interests. The University is known for their fests. We have fests like Engifest and Yuvaan and tech fest like Invictus, which invites many other universities. Engifest has had artists such as Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal and many more. As for the crowd, you will find people from all the regions, all castes, and personalities. Therefore, you can grow and learn more. Students are also involved in variety of community service and social initiatives. The e-cell supports entrepreneurship and new startup ideas. It also has multiple societies for development in various aspects like Robotics Club, Music club, dance club, coding societies, etc. Overall, the campus life is quite chill and fun with multiple opportunities for students to explore their passion, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and focus on personal growth and fitness.
