Vibrant campus life

Overall Rating
My time at NIT, Surathkal has been unforgettable, and I will cherish these moments forever. Known for being a "college with a private beach", it certainly lives up to its reputation. The experienced faculty, excellent sports facility and student clubs add value to campus life. However, weather here can be quite unpredictable, with summers being particularly hot. The placement and internship opportunities are also impressive, making it a well-rounded positive experience.
 

Academics Rating
Admission to this institute requires qualifying JEE Main, with circuital branches needing more than 99 percentile for the general category. I chose this institute for its NIRF rank 10 at that time and for its alumni network. Enrolling in IT reflects my interests towards computer science and AI, offering a platform where I can interact with experienced faculties and gain exposure.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members in my course are highly qualified, with many holding degrees from prestigious institutions. Each professor has a specialized research area and actively publishes papers in their fields. Their teaching style often includes presentations and interactive learning. Additionally, we have well-equipped labs for nearly every course, especially in computer science related branches, ensuring hands-on practical experience.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a dedicated career development center (CDC) that plays a vital role in connecting students with industry opportunities. They bring companies on campus for placements in the 4th year and internships in the 3rd year. The CDC assists in every phase offering resume building sessions and mock interviews with seniors. Reputed companies, some offering packages exceeding 50 LPA, frequently participate.
 

Hostel Rating
Our institution offers residential facilities with 8-10 boys' hostels and 3-4 girls' hostels. While some are older with decent infrastructure the newer ones are well-equipped and modern. Certain hostels have in house mess facilities providing convenience for residents. The hostel life is vibrant, with recreational activities and a strong sense of community among students. Decent funds are issued for institutes for recreational facilities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our campus features three lecture halls for B.Tech departments, providing a comfortable learning environment. Each department has its own dedicated building, equipped with modern infrastructure and state of the art facilities. The labs are fully air-conditioned and well maintained, ensuring hands-on learning and research opportunities. We have 2 libraries which are open almost 24/7. Overall, the campus is designed to support academic excellence with advanced amenities.
 

Campus Rating
campus life at NIT Surathkal is vibrant and diverse, offering something for everyone. The student crowd is a mix of talented individuals from across the country. Numerous clubs cater to various interests, from technical to cultural to literacy. Our annual fests, incident (cultural) and engineer (technical) are highlights, drawing large participation and featuring exciting events and competitions. With frequent workshops, hackathons, and recreational activities, the campus ensures an engaging and holistic student experience.

    NITK Surathkal is one of the most precious institutes. After admission, I love it very much. Firstly, the infrastructure is superb.     I am currently a 2nd year student in B.Tech EEE branch at NITK. So coming into this institute was never decided. The story begins with a student preparing for IIT did well in MAINS have CRL 7384 but then bored and messed up in ADVANCE and ends up with a bad rank. From the ADVANCE rank I was not able to get to a good IIT so decide going for NIT instead.     NITK is the second ranked NIT after NIT Trichy. Its teachers, alumni and students make it a college worth studying in. It is located alongside the calm coastal Surathkal beach with Arabian Sea increasing its beauty. If you get any branch in NITK, it is worth preferring it over other tier 2 NITs.... Read Full Review
