Delhi School of Economics Fee Structure is Affordable

The overall review according to me of the college is amazing. All teachers are experts in their domain and extremely helpful. You could go to them either after lecture or in their office hours. They will clarify your doubts regarding everything be it course or technicalities of the college. Everyone is passionate about teaching and while the course is rigorous it prepares you for the future. Apart from that that canteen is awesome. The food over there is hygienic and tasty. JP stall is just beside it where one can interact with their classmates after lecture. The library is huge fully air conditioned and has almost all resources.

I chose M.A. Economics since I was interested in Economics from a very young age. I took economics in my undergrad as well. DSE requires one to have math in class 11 and 12th. Admission is done through CUET PG from past two three years now. Half of the seats are reserved for DU students so the cut-off is a bit less for them. There are 4 semesters in total and each semester has 1 mid-term and 1 final exam. Currently final exams have 70% while mid terms/class performance has 26-30% weight.

The yearly fee currently is around Rs. 11,751. Placement cell registration fee is Rs. 2,000 while library membership fee is Rs. 1,500.

The faculty is top notch. They are all experts in there domain. Most of them have been DSE students themselves so they understand the pressure student is in. Many of them have done there Ph.D from IIT, IVY league, etc. They are well renowned economist in India. They use both PPT and black board while teaching. While the teacher student ratio is very low but you can always email your doubts or visit them in their office hours they will be available. The teachers are extremely helpful and sweet. They would calm you down and guide you well throughout your time over here.

Placements are taken very seriously and almost everyone gets placed.

The college itself does not offer any hostel facilities but Ambedkar Ganguly hostel for girls has 50 percent of seats reserved for DSE students. For boys there is VKRV rao hostel. The food is the hostel is hygienic and healthy. An average hostel charge is around Rs. 12,000 quarterly with monthly mess charges around Rs. 2,000-3,000.

The Infrastructure of the college is first class. There are 4 departments Economics, Sociology, commerce and geography. The economics block is the first you encounter when enter from the gate. There is a 3 floor big library called Ratan Tata library. The reading room is occupied almost till 8 pm. The economics block also has a computer lab which is also mostly occupied throughout the day. The lecture halls have a capacity to accommodate around 150 people while the classrooms have seating capacity for 60 - 100 depending on the size. The canteen is almost attached to the backside of the eco block and the JP stall is adjacent to it. Most of the time after lecture is over there are only students. My favorite place is the stall as it is throughout lively and a good place to eat and chit chat with your friends. The Lecture halls and classrooms have projectors and white board to complement offline and online teaching stuffs.

The course is rigorous which is why there is only one official society the placement cell which manages almost everything. If you have enrolled in the course then you should forget about college life and focus on the course as it will take almost all your time. Although it is in north campus so students could go to other colleges like Kirori Mal or Ramjas to attend fests. The college regularly organizes lectures from eminent personalities in the field of economics which is extremely enriching.
