Overall Rating
Delhi School of Economics also known as D-School is a prominent institution in India, which is coming under University of Delhi. It is known for its rigorous curriculum and placement, especially in Economics. It also has Departments like Commerce, MBA, Sociology, and Geography other than Economics. I am an Economics student. I chose DSE because it is well known for placement opportunity, higher study in Economics, A well-established alumni network with notable presence in international organizations, leading corporate, government institutions like RBI, NITI Aayog, and Indian Economic Service.
 

Academics Rating
The courses are structured to provide strong theoretical knowledge to apply in practical life, research, policy making and in industry. MA Economics is really challenging particularly for those who are came from non-DU colleges. Courses are quite Mathematical in nature. It provides huge knowledge in advanced Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, Econometrics, Game theory, and Development Economics. Academically it is one of the best colleges in India. Admission through CUET exam conducted by NTA, eligibility criteria is you must have bachelor degree with Mathematics in UG or 12th.
Fee structure is quite less in DSE. One will complete its Master’s degree of two years with just Rs. 30,000. Every student can afford the fee here.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are very good and helping in nature, one can clear his/her doubt in classroom, through email or physically in office hours. All faculty members are from well-known institutions like JNU, ISI, IIT Delhi, IGIDR, MSE, and international institutions also. There are honorary professors like Amartya Sen, Jean Dreze and Manohar Singh. Method of teaching is blackboard, PPTs, and tutorials for problem solving. Problem solving ability of faculty is good and one can easily understand.
 

Placement Rating
It has placement cell, which is very active. It helps students to build attractive resume and helps in preparation for interview by conducting KT session by seniors, which have already been placed in corporate, banks and government institutions.
 

Hostel Rating
DSE has no its own hostel but there are 10 to15 hostels of Delhi University for both boys and girls. One can get admission in hostel according to CUET scorecard after 2 to 3 months of admission in college. There are separate hostel for boys and girls. Mess food is good in quality as well as in hygiene. Hostel fee is Rs. 6,000 to7,000 per month not equal for all. My personal experience is very good in hostel. There are library, computer lab, reading room, common room, and gym in hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is good. It is situated in north campus of DU near KMC, Ramjas and Hindu college. Classrooms are structured with AC, fans, and lights. Classroom capacity is 150 to 160. There is library and e- library facility with free Wi-Fi, Conference hall with capacity of 200 people. Canteen is in college premises with affordable price. My favorite is reading in e-library with comfortable until 8:00 PM and the college campus which very cool and comfort.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, it is very nice experience in Delhi School of Economics. All friends are supportive seniors as well. There is quite crowd in college until 4:00 PM. One thing I like most is group discussion in college campus, which gave nice knowledge and experience. There no much fest in DSE due to rigorous curriculum but events likes seminars and panel discussion in every month in the college. My experience in DSE is very nice which provide me confidence and experience to do something.

    Delhi School of Economics (DSE) has low fee structure as compared to IIMs and placements are very good. As the student of MBA I feel that the curriculum is balanced of both practical and theoretical knowledge and even the teachers prepare us for real world. You get perfect environment for study and the students are so knowledgeable that you learn so many things from them.     The overall review according to me of the college is amazing. All teachers are experts in their domain and extremely helpful. You could go to them either after lecture or in their office hours. They will clarify your doubts regarding everything be it course or technicalities of the college. Everyone is passionate about teaching and while the course is rigorous it prepares you for the future. Apart from that that canteen is awesome. The food over there is hygienic and tasty.     Walking into Delhi School of Economics feels like walking into a world which has been lived by one of the best scholars India has ever produced. The feeling of getting into DSE is surreal, the people you meet, the exposure you get, and the amount of conversations you strike with the best minds in the field of academics is what sets DSE apart from many other institutions.   • I am jolting down my experience at DSE

    Having completed my PG from DSE, I wish I could have prepared myself a bit better. Having done my graduation from St Stephen's College that is just in front of DSE, never though I will be North Campus for eternity. Before joining, I hardly had any idea about the kind of course DSE provides and that Department of Economics will be this hard. Any PG course for that matter would be hard, but DSE perhaps had the toughest going in education career. My review might help the students to prepare upfront... Read Full Review

  • Academics at D School were rigorous

    When I look back now, I feel proud but back in the days; I was restless as after mild studies at undergraduate level at Presidency College Chennai, my life turned upside down. Education at D School was such that it was difficult to even go out on Sundays. One thing that Delhi School of Economics did best was that it made me become Socrates.
