As a first-year B.Com (Hons.) student at Hansraj College, my experience has been pleasant. The college offers many opportunities to learn and grow. It also allows you to interact with an excellent peer group. Being one of the best multi-disciplinary colleges of DU, it allows students to contact with peers from various streams & courses and learn from each other. The faculty is also knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding. The college also allows students to be a part of various societies. These societies are a great way to hone existing skills and develop new skills. The learning at this college is life-long and is a stepping-stone into an illustrious career. The Hansraj stamp is invaluable and highly regarded everywhere.

I chose the B.Com (Hons.) degree because of the breadth of topics covered in the syllabus and the reputation of the course. Admission is through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). By clearing the cut-off for marks in CUET, you can become eligible for admission into the college. The cut-off for the college varies every year, depending on the performance of the test takers of that year. For the B.Com (Hons.) degree, there is only one major test at the end of the semester, a common end-semester exam for all colleges under DU. The syllabus of the course is up to date with changes in industry and helps students have the most current and relevant information for when they start working.

The fee for the first year at Hansraj College is around Rs. 28,500 for students of general category. Scholarships and financial aid are provided to those students who need it.

The faculty in the college is highly knowledgeable and helpful. The college is of a comfortable size and full of a lot of greenery. The college has three blocks and classrooms of various sizes. All the classrooms are equipped with projectors, air conditioners, and fans. There is a well-equipped library, multiple seminar halls and an auditorium. There is a huge sports ground, basketball court, archery facility, and a badminton court. The college has its own canteen and various other eating joints in the campus as well. The infrastructure is built to support all students (even students with disabilities). The college is also situated in a bustling locality.

Campus life is wholesome with a good mix of academic rigor and enjoyable experiences. The college crowd is friendly and welcoming. The college hosts its fests at the end of February or early March. The fests are a mix of competitions and fun events like concerts of acclaimed singers. Overall, college life is an enjoyable experience with much to do.
