Exciting Placement Opportunities at VJTI Mumbai

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute is one of the oldest engineering institutes in India. This makes it an institute with great infrastructure and high reputation. I am currently pursuing my B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication from this institute. Why I chose this institute, the reason is its placements and prime location. The institute has plenty of equipment in their lab. They are renovating almost every single laboratory.

I have chosen B.Tech. In Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The reason for choosing this branch is you can go for software companies or even in core companies. For getting admission here you need to give MHT-CET exam which is conducted by cet cell Maharashtra. Then seat are allocated through CAP counseling. There are special quotas that get admission through JEE Mains like J&K, NRI, CIWGC, etc. Once seat is allocated through CAP counseling, you have to report at institute on given time which will be notified on institute's official website. They will verify your documents and then will confirm your admission. For B.Tech, We have 2 exams in a semester one is MST (Mid sem exam) and ESE (End Semester Exam). Academics at Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute are really good. They focus on student's overall growth. The startup culture at institute is even good.

Fees for First Year B.Tech Students are Rs. 85,551 per year excluding hostel and mess. There are caste benefits in fees too. For OBC and NT category students fees are based on their annual income. Complete fee structure is available on institute’s website.

Almost every faculty member is a Ph.D holder. Majority of them are from IITs and foreign Universities. Even some faculties are also research associate at IIT Bombay. Every teacher has their own method of teaching like some teach on blackboard some on PPTs and even some teachers give projects or Group Discussion. Teachers here are very much approachable. You can go in their cabin and ask doubts.

The placements at VJTI are good. Since it is located is south Bombay, lot of companies visit here. One of our Electronics senior even got internship at Google, Paris.

There are hostels for institute students inside the campus. Only students outside the Mumbai are eligible for hostels. Not everyone get hostel. It is based on merit. Girls and boys hostels are separate. Hostel fees for first year student are Rs. 22,000 and Mess fee is Rs. 44,000. Some part of hostel is renovated which is good. Four students stay in one room for first year. Mess food is good but not appreciable.

There are two academic buildings in Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute. Campus size is 16 acres. Having 16 acres of campus in the area like South Bombay is not easy. Many prime locations are nearby. Classrooms are good. Some classrooms are yet to be renovated. Library and labs are renovated and maintained good. Auditorium is quite small with seating capacity of around 200-250. Canteen facility is there but not renovated. Area is not that big so you can travel inside by walking.

Overall campus life is going nice. Institute crowd is from all over the India. Majority from Maharashtra itself. A lot of students from Mumbai too. There are many clubs. 'Rangawardhan' and 'Pratibimb' are the main cultural clubs and 'Enthusia' a sport club. Also there are clubs for debating, entrepreneurship, etc. 'Rangawardhan' is the cultural club mainly focused on conservation of Maharashtra culture and 'Pratibimb' is focused on overall cultural activities. Fests and events here are too good. Many celebrities live nearby so calling them as chief guest get easier. There are many fests keep going in institute. Main cultural fest is in December. Main Sports fest is in February which fabulous. Overall campus life is enjoyable. You will never regret.
