Gargi College Fee Structure for BBE: Scholarships, Department Fees & More

I am a second-year college student at Gargi College. My overall experience has been pretty amazing. I chose this college specifically due to my course and it turned out to be my best decision. Another factor was that it is a girl's college in south campus, which makes it somewhat safer than any other colleges. The locality and surrounding is very peaceful. There are so many societies and lot of events that happen providing such good opportunities. The placements are pretty good compared to many other south campus colleges. So, if you want to have a good fun yet career-oriented college, you should go for it. However, I would suggest research well about your course and how well it is doing in your college.

My course is BA (Hons.) in Business Economics. I had researched a lot about the course that I wanted to pursue and what are the best colleges in DU that offer that. Me being from PCM background, I wanted to change my stream to either Economy or Business and I found the perfect combination of both. BBE is a very professional and practical course, which I think, aligns perfectly with the job market requirements. The eligibility was to give in CUET in Math (compulsory), English (Compulsory), and GT (compulsory). However, there were other subject combinations as well for the same course. I suggest you do your research well before filing the subjects list. The admission process after clearing CUET was pretty smooth as everything was done through the portal itself. There was no need to run around the admin office at all. Looking at the placement stats for BBE, it is a very well-built course for job market.

The fee for the first year is to be paid at once. The fee structure for the first year for BBE was around Rs. 45,000 and it remains same for all three years. There can be Rs. 1 or 2 thousand hikes in the total fee for different years. Apart from the course fee, there is a department fee that needs to be paid for once in three years. Examination fee is charged separately during the exam form filling. However, students can avail scholarships up to 50% of their course fee from the institute itself if they meet the requirement and they are also free to receive scholarships from any private institutions as well.

The faculty is top tier. There are professors holding PhD degrees in their respective fields. The teaching style varies. They use blackboards for theoretical parts and labs rooms for practical papers and projectors for tutorial classes. There is enough room for everyone to be comfortable and ask questions or to solve their doubts. The faculty members, the staffs, and the professors are very approachable and reliable. The teacher-student ration is pretty much reasonable. They have limited number of seats or strength of a particular class, or else sections would be divided.

The placement cell is one of the hardworking societies in the college. They have something to offer for every year student. From seminars, webinars, internships for first- and second-year student to actually helping third year students in their placements. They also help students in building their resume and create awareness about several scholarships and internships. I myself have received scholarships and internships with the help of placement cell. Some renowned companies that visited our college for recruitment are Deloitte, D.E Shaw, EY, Accenture, Bank of India, Bank of America, and many more. The average package offered is around 3 to 4 LPA and the highest in 2024 was around 23 LPA.

Unfortunately, there is no hostel facility in Gargi College. Outstation students would have to look for PGs near college to reside in.

The college comprises of 21 departments across Humanities, Science, and Commerce. It has 21 well-equipped laboratories, 46 classrooms, and 4 lecture theatres. There are so many bamboo huts, which are actual rooms that look super good. There is one big auditorium and a seminar hall in a separate building. There are four different blocks for each stream. There are four big AC installed lab rooms with each desk having a laptop for practical papers. There is a two-story library that has many books from each stream. There is a canteen, which has variety of foods at a very reasonable price. Apart from the canteen, stalls of Nescafe and mother diary are also there beside a big sports ground. My favorite place in college is certainly sitting near Nescafe.

Overall, my campus life has been very transformative. The crowd is super good and that is the best thing about Gargi college. The people, students, and staff members, all are very humble and chill people. There are so many societies and clubs to participate in. So many events and functions are there for you to enjoy and even be a part of. There is always something happening in the campus, be it people dancing, any show going on, any sports function. Starting from college annual fest to societies fests, freshers, functions, different events, competitions, it is all a full package.
