Chandigarh University MBA Review By Ajay Singh

I had to take a drop for a year because Chandigarh University doesn’t give admissions to anyone but one has to have good scores at CUCET or other entrance scores that the university accepts. It doesn’t get over here as there as a GD & PI round too and only after that student are awarded admissions. CU is a place where there is buzz but not violence for sure. Students are seen chirping all day long and even though we had some on and off time as the first semester exams happened online and end semesters which happened just a few days back happened offline. The university has included a lot of practicality in the course as the second year which is about the start in a week’s the planner has been given to us and boy when I have had a look at it, I was like, no ways, we would be doing so many things in such a little time. So, thus far, it has been a little easy ride but I am already worried as I know I will have to wrap myself up in the saddle and give all of my time and energy into studies.

I am glad we are over Covid now as hardly understood a thing during the online sessions. The attendance is compulsory and all the things that university organizes have some marks or perks attached to it. So, students don’t have a choice but to get ready every morning and come to the university. Our building in the university is known for pin-drop silence as we hardly step out even during the breaks. The classrooms are amazing and honestly, I don’t even feel like leaving the classes unless and until they are over. I meant to say that they are that interesting.

The faculties of CU are highly qualified and are fair and square with students. No personal vendettas or agendas come to the classrooms from them. They come do their job and ask twice or thrice are we clear or not. One hand raised and it will be discussed again so for their commitment and perseverance 10 on 10. They have connections in the industry and we know that some of them will also be training us for placements so the relation between the faculties and the students is by and large great because they don’t mess with students and students couldn’t even have courage to take it on them.

I witnessed the last placements and one thing for sure. If LPU has the best placements among private universities in Punjab, Chandigarh University Placements are second best for sure. In our planner there is mandatory one-month training and internships included which will be starting in the third semester. From December onward the companies start coming and by the end of February the placements are by and large done. The average of the last year was 6 lakhs and one of the student’s getting placements of 22 lakhs have really charged us up.

The boy’s hostel had a plethora of options are there are bungalows that has rooms and students opting for single rooms get that while there are many boys hostel buildings too and students opting for shared rooms are shifted there. The girls’ hostel building is the grandest of them all as the 12-floor building has over 1000 girls staying in it. Chandigarh University hostels are inside the campus and water tight security of the hostel is maintained by the authority. The hostel food has been questioned by some of my known but rooms and other facilities are incomparable.

The university is now more or less complete as just one or the two buildings are left to be built and therefore the campus is ready. Chandigarh University campus is divided in two zones as our department is in South zone of the campus and all the fun zones are at the north campus. Various café’s and playgrounds are all the other side but the auditorium and the central library that has over 100k books is in our zone. The campus is beautiful and since it’s a new campus, everything is shining like a crescent moon here. There’s a shopping complex inside that has many food joints, grocery store, a medical store, and a salon. So, one can get all the essential things inside the campus as the university is on highway and therefore going to the main city is not always possible for the students.

At CU, a lot of fests are organized and from March till June, it became a festivity hub. It seems like university was waiting for Covid to get curbed down and they just started smacking event after events. It began with farewell and then finally the CU Fest which saw the likes of Jass Manak performing for us and students owning the stage with some of the most beautiful dance forms and skits.
