BITS- it's magic

Overall Rating
The overall experience in the first year was very overwhelming and very new environment was there but as the time passed I got used to it. The reason of choosing this college was first it's close to my home town and other is the exposure and good quality of education it provides. The zero percent attendance, compulsory summer internship provided by the institute itself are few of the special features of BITS.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Civil engineering because of my low score in the entrance exam which was conducted by the Institute itself but eventually I started liking it and the professors here are very good and supportive. The entry requirements are 75% minimum marks in 12th class and qualify their entrance exam called BITSAT. The admission process is quite simple, you just have to clear the cut-off of the exam and then you will be admitted easily. This exam happens every year and it helps prepare us for real life challenges as well.
The fee of this Institute is quite higher but it is completely worth it. The total fees is about Rs. 28,00,000 for complete course of B.Tech. There are bunch of scholarships provided by the Institute and sum of them are based on the merit and the income of the parents. Students scoring more than 9.5 CGPA get very good scholarship.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members at BITS are well educated and the minimum qualification of each professor is Ph.D or more. They all have studied from very high renowned Institute like IITs and some foreign great Universities. The methods of teaching are also good. They usually use PPT to present the topic and explain it on board. The teacher-student ratio is quite good. It's enough for every student. If you attend all the lectures then there becomes a good bonding with the faculty because all the students don’t attend the lectures due to the zero attendance policy.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell of the BITS Pilani is good. It sets a minimum requirement of a package for company to apply in the placement of the college. There is a placement conducted every semester. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft and BCG come here for the placements. The average packages is also very high like 20 lakh.
 

Hostel Rating
There are in total 13 hostels in BITS Pilani which are well furnished and cleaned every day. There are a lot of recreational activities in the hostels. There is a big park in every hostel to play cricket, badminton or any sport. There are also big stadiums in the college itself. To maintain the Institute and even the amenities are very good. It is hygienic and the food taste is mediocre. The overall experience is good. There is no entry-exit time in hostels but there is exit entry time at the main gate of the campus. You need not to go out of the campus because everything is available in the campus for your night life.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are a lot of buildings and every building is a sign of a department. The campus size is very big and it is spread in about 320 acres. The library is very big and it is one of the biggest private libraries in India. The campus is very beautiful and it is surrounded by lush green environment. There are a lot of food canteens in campus itself which are open till 2 a.m. Also there is a medical centre of the college itself which provides medicines and prescription of the doctor.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is very good at BITS. The crowd is very engaging and the seniors are very helpful. There are a lot of clubs run by students themselves. There are sport events like Oasis which is the biggest cultural fest of Asia after the mood Indigo fest of IIT Bombay. We get to eat a lot of good food from all over the country because the crowd is from all over the India. The sports facilities are amazing and also the gymnasium is also great. There are enough equipment too.

    It ranks first in private engineering colleges and 3rd in Pharmacy colleges in India. It has a unique startup culture because of relaxation given to choose a semester off and work on your startup idea. BITS Pilani has one of the best infrastructures in our country.     It has been a great experience up till now. The factors that made me choose BITS Pilani was its merit-based admission i.e. there is not even a single student who got here through reservation. Therefore, every student is of more or less same IQ. Secondly, it's attendance flexibility. 0% attendance rule make it easier for student to think beyond academics and get sufficient time for like other things (if anyone interested in entrepreneurship, coding, finance, etc.) and of course how can you forget...
