My Honest Outlook on LPU Jalandhar as a Freshmen

Overall Rating
LPU offers you an average university experience. The curriculum is good. The infrastructure is nice. Classes are comfortable. But it lacks in campus life. There are less number of class tours, industrial visits, or picnics. The factor that made me choose or opt for LPU Jalandhar is the it provides at exposure all India level. The is also this huge opportunity to travel all around India.
 

Academics Rating
The course I’ve chosen is B.Tech Computer Science. I was always been interested in computer and after high school, B.Tech CSE was the obvious choice for me. Entry or admission process include applying for admission then apply for LPUnest, which is an entrance exam. If you pass the exam then you are officially qualified for admission. The publication of results will follow up with a phone call from faculty and you can proceed if you wish to. We have CAS midterms and end terms. The academics will prepare you well for real life.
Fees is paid semester wise. The total fee is Rs. 2,40,000 per year, which is Rs. 1,20,000 per semester. This will reduce depending on your scholarship at the entrance exam. The registration fees is Rs. 500 and the admission fee is Rs. 10,000. There is scholarship is also available that depending on the results of an entrance exam. There is financial aid for students as well.
 

Faculty Rating
In my opinion, the faculty and teaching staff of the university is not up to the mark. Management needs to take care of this issue as soon as possible, so that students can have better learning experience. However, all them are well qualified for being professors in the university.
 

Placement Rating
LPU Jalandhar offers decent placements. Big name MNCs such as Google, IBM, etc. visit the campus during the placement drives. Companies will interview you and if you perform well the job is yours. LPU Jalandhar also will conducts placement classes. There is the average package of 4 LPA. I have not opted for placements.
 

Hostel Rating
The university has 10 or 12 hostels. Each hostel has 10 floors. They are decent and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and services are fine. Girl’s and boy’s hostels are separate. Mess food can be improved though. Hostel fee is Rs. 80,000 per year. If you want to go outside you have to apply for leave. You cannot apply for leave after 6 PM. My hostel experience is nice.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are multiple blocks. The classes will change after each semester. There is shuffling as well. The campus is huge. It spreads around all Phagwara. Classrooms are comfortable and nice. So are the library, labs seminar hall, and auditorium and conference hall. But everywhere is crowded. There are multiple canteens so there is an pretty good chance that you will like the food from anyone of the canteens. There are good sports facilities. The medical facilities are also there. Transport is good and so are the other facilities.
 

Campus Rating
LPU offers you a good university experience. The university crowd can be hectic and unbearable. There are a lot of clubs and activities. I am not a part of any clubs. The university organizes events, which are mostly curriculum based. There will be fests and events.

    To be honest this college was not my first choice I attempted IPMAT exam for admission in IIM Indore but couldn't crack it. So I went through lot of websites on internet and came across LPU. They were providing this course under 15 lakhs whereas other colleges like Nirma had fees up to 30 lakhs.     The overall experience that I observed here is a good facility and the advanced technology used. The largest campus with good infrastructure and good environment and I found it better than others because of the placement records. In comparison to other states University it always is a top one. I chose LPU because among all the private universities this one is most affordable and near to my home town.
