Life on Campus at IIT Jodhpur: Clubs, Fests, and More

The overall experience of Indian Institute of Technology is very good. The factors which made me choose this Institute were the infrastructure, the academics and it is about 5 hrs away from my home. I think among all IITS, IIT jodhpur is the only Institute which provides single occupancy room to all the students and each room has AC installed in it. Also there are many tests going on in Institute every month. At least there are 2-3 tests. The professors here are outstanding and are very knowledgeable.

I have chosen B.Tech in material engineering at Indian Institute of Technology. The motive to select this course is that it has a very bright future with many job opportunities. The only criterion to enter in the Institute is to clear the exam JEE ADVANCED and enters the Institute of dreams. After clearing the JEE advanced exam, students have to fill their choice preference list of Institutes on JOSAA website and after that you are allotted an Institute. Later you have to wait for Institute to send you further instructions. The Institute sends all the information what is further processed and when the students have to go to Institute and do the further process. IIT jodhpur follows continuous evaluation policy where the quizzes and exams go throughout the semester. A Semester is of 4 months and minor exam is conducted in between and major exam is conducted in the end and in between the quizzes other things are always going on.

The total semester fee is approximately Rs. 1,50,000 in Indian Institute of Technology. The tuition fees is Rs. 1,00,000 and hostel fee is approximately Rs. 30,000. The mess fee is approximately Rs. 20,000 for general category students. The students have to pay Rs. 35,000 as an admission fee in the start. There are fee remission for students whose parents income is less than Rs. 5,00,000. There are many more scholarships going on in the Institute.

The faculty members are very experienced and talented at Indian Institute of Technology. Most of the faculties are either M.Tech, Ph.D’s, foreign graduates or IIT’ians. So, the level of teaching is very high. Mostly teachers teach by preparing PPT’s on the topic. The students teacher ratio is 50:1. The teachers help students in all the possible way and are always ready for the progress of the students. You can approach any of the faculty by just sending a mail.

The infrastructure at Indian Institute of Technology is very good in the Institute. The campus is very huge with a span of 852 acres of campus area. The campus is located about 25 km away from the main city. There are library, labs and seminar halls. There is also a canteen and Shamiyana in the Institute for food dining. Also here the animal life is very good with about 300 dears in the Institute itself. Institute provides bus for students to go to the city every day.

The Institute life is very good and the total students are about 4,000 studying in Indian Institute of Technology including all the branches. There are many active clubs in the Institute such as programming clubs, dance clubs, singing clubs, raid-ai club, sports clubs and many more. Students can take part in any club and we develop new skills with such clubs. The fests and events are very common in the Institute and go throughout the year.
