Ground reality of Jamia Millia Islamia

Overall Rating
My overall experience in Jamia Millia Islamia is fantastic. We got to know people from all over the country practicing unique culture. It is absolutely adventurous thing to do. Moreover the aesthetic Jamia campus is like cherry on top. The learning process and experiencing things here will be the best time of your life. Personally I enjoyed the vibrant culture here and the campus environment is soothing. The University is located in the middle of Delhi.
 

Academics Rating
I am a B.Tech student in electronics and communication. Choosing B.Tech was mostly clear since my high school (as taking math for intermediate) but wasn't sure about stream. After my JEE Main, I was pretty much sure about my branch considering my rank. In Jamia you don't need to have 75% marks in 12th board exam, which is a plus point for many students who clear the JEE Main with good marks but take the boards too lightly. The last rank for civil branch is nearly 90,000. There are total 2 mid semester exams and 1 end semester exam in one semester. With high qualified professor you get industry needs advices frequently.
The most amazing part of this college is actually its fee structure which is a life saver for many not so financially abled students. The total course fee for 1 year in B.Tech is nearly Rs. 13,000 only. Means you can complete your 4 year B.Tech degree under Rs. 60,000. This is only the course fee but the hostel and mess charges are also very nominal. According to one of my colleague it's around Rs. 50,000 for whole year. (for both mess + hostel).
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members of Jamia Millia Islamia are highly qualified and talented. Most of them are from IIT’s and other well known Universities. In engineering there are almost 30+ permanent faculties (5 branches). The classes are equipped with projector but most of the teachers prefer to use, green board or whiteboard. One thing that you should know is that you have made a good relation with professor to get good marks in internals. However from my personal experience professors try their best to give you good grades (except some extra knowledgeable one).
 

Placement Rating
The placement in Jamia Millia Islamia is decent in terms of the ROI. As if you get an average package of 7-8 LPA with investing less than 1 LPA. The average package for CS branch is 9-10 LPA and for electronics its 7-9 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Jamia is already facing criticism for limited hostel seats, since the hostels fees are very nominal. All the students want to get hostel but unfortunately the seats are not much.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of Jamia Millia Islamia is pretty good. It has a campus area of 235 acres. The University has more than 50+ graduation program. University is equipped with top notch library facility (separate library for engineering students), Labs, seminar halls, 3 big Auditorium - Ansari auditorium, FET auditorium and architect. Having 5 big canteens that provide all the famous cuisine of nation at affordable rates. The sports complex of Jamia is equipped with all the games equipment and courts (cricket ground: women's world cup was also played in this ground), basketball court, badminton court, etc.
 

Campus Rating
The thing I enjoyed the most is the campus life of Jamia Millia Islamia. Late nights outing, campus explorations, discovering the new tech societies, cultural societies, dance clubs, etc. I am personally member of cultural society and tech society. Every year there are months of fests and engagement which are mostly February- march where different artists come to perform and enjoy. Last year fest ‘zephyr’ was such a success.

    There is full-fledged campus life in JMI with supportive faculty, and adequate connectivity. It has promising internship opportunities and an active placement cell.     Jamia Millia Islamia University has very unique and good experience. It is one of the best universities in India. Its NIRF ranking is also 3rd in India. Factor that made me choose this institute is its heritage, prestige and after all it's reasonable and affordable fees for all the courses. The university is 100+ years old and it has its reputation.     Since my childhood I wanted to get admission is Jamia University as it has always been one of the best Institutes all over in India. More over science was my favorite subject and I wanted to explore it so I decided to fill the admission form and give the entrance exam and luckily I got selected.
