My Thoughts on VIT Bhopal

Overall Rating
My overall experience until now at this university can be said to be okay. I opted this because it is the only VIT Bhopal campus in North India. In addition, the recent placement stats published by the university showed decent growth. Other factors like newer technologies like cloud computing and gaming technology, etc. are present here that makes it good. Thus, I opted for this university. Despite being a new university, growth here is at a very decent pace in terms of placements, academics, facilities, etc.
 

Academics Rating
I am here at Bachelors of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering stream with specialization in Cloud Computing & Automation. Eligibility for this course is that you need to be 12th passed with minimum marks of 65% and then based on your VITEEE entrance test rank. Then admission is done through online counseling. Exams here are midterms and term end exams, which account for total of 60% marks. The rest of 40% is through internal assessments, labs, attendance, etc. The academics here run at a fast pace so it will for sure help in being fast and effective for tasks.
Fee structure here depends on your VITEEE entrance exam results. There are five categories of fee from category one until category five. The annual tuition fee in category one is 2 LPA that goes on increasing to 3 LPA in 2nd, 4 LPA in 3rd, 4.5 LPA in 4th, and 5 LPA for the 5th category. If you are meritorious and good in studies, the university offers scholarships. In addition, scholarships are provided to state toppers in 12th exams.
 

Faculty Rating
All the teachers have completed their PhD in their respective domains. Since it is a VIT Bhopal, located in Bhopal, there are faculties from both South & North India. Most of them teach are using projectors and whiteboards where required to explain in detail. They are able to solve problems related to it. The teacher to student ratio is almost like 50 to 60 students per teacher here. Faculties mostly are helpful and can be approached through mail, or directly one can meet in their cabins.
 

Placement Rating
The placements in year 2022 and 2023 were very good with above 90% placed students having average package of around 8 lakhs. However, in 2024, maybe due to global market slowdown, placements are affected. Yet, skilled students are getting opportunities and are being placed in top companies like Microsoft. The placement cell trains students for placement and guides them through the entire process. Companies like Zomato, Microsoft, IBM, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, etc. visit for placements. Average package will be around 8 to 9 LPA that goes as high as above 60 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are newly made with good infrastructure. Rooms are spacious with electricity and Wi-Fi available in almost entire day. Hostel fee depends on the type of hostel and room selected. The rooms range from 6 bedded to single bedded rooms. Hostel timings and rules are strict. The campus is totally ragging free here and seniors are really very helpful. My hostel gates are closed at 8:30 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is still being developed. Till date, we have Libraries, Lab complex, Academic buildings, Hostels, Architecture block, cafeteria, canteens, general store, playground and courts, lawns, auditoriums, multi-purpose halls, etc. while more things like mall, swimming pools, parks, etc. will be built in no time. The infrastructure here is good and newly built with all types of facilities available. The classrooms are nice. Sporting facilities here are also decent. My favorite here is the lab complex equipped with all modern technologies.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is fast here. You can design your timetable according to you. There are many clubs here (both Technical and Non-Technical) which organize extracurricular and events throughout the year. The Fests and events are held here but the only bad thing is they ask money for all this. It does not fund the clubs and societies and fest. The crowd here is huge as almost 8000 students study in the university.

    VIT Bhopal is a decent and good University and there are many good facilities like having good hostels, FFCS system, and the doctorate faculties to train the students for future. Also the placement stats of VIT Bhopal are decently good and students can take admission in this University. The campus is spread in 300 acres and is a lush green campus.     VIT Bhopal is an average university with decent placement opportunities and average campus infrastructure. Students get good opportunities for participating in the extracurricular activities.     According to my experiences, the infrastructure is good. Campus life is average not that great as IIT's. One great thing in this university is that the entire faculty is Ph.D holders and highly experienced, mostly from IIT's.
